2 things about the bengals after week 1

Well, im not surprised by the homerisms around here, there are plenty of those on every teams board. I guess I just hoped for some more sound opinons, which Im sure there are plenty of here as well.....just havent run across that yet.

Wait a minute, I talked fairly to you. You are the on coming on a fins board dissing teh qb. I could have gone on about the Bengals but didnt. Your improved, yes, but a successful season for you is a disappointing season for us because of how bad you guys have been. So act like you are whatever you want to be, but we aint homers because we arent singing the bengals praises. You want that go back to bengals land. We are excited about AJ and even teh pundits who are dissing us like Gordon, so yes we believe that we are better than some feel and that we will be a good team once every one is in sync. See the statements like if we can go 4-4 first half we have a shot, or 5-3 or at worst 3-5 first half. That shows a recognition of growing pains.

Because you are not necessarily cellar dwellers anymore ddoesnt make you a powerhouse. So quit acting like the bengals are a proven superior team. They are improved but not a guarentee super bowl contender.

Should be a good game Sunday, both teams will most likely come out with a hunger and determination.

Just because most of the opinions aren't, "THE DOLPHINS ARE THE WORST TEAM EVER. THEY ARE GOING TO BE KILLED BY THE FAR SUPERIOR BENGAL TEAM" does not mean they aren not sound.

Fans always look at the best of their team. Even the worst team could become a good team if a lot of things happen. Fans notices these ifs and hope for them.

SInce when is it a homerism to support your team? I know this isn't the strongest Dolphins team we've put forward. I'm not expecting a winning season from us even. But any week I will pick my Dolphins to win and give you reasons for it. I mean you're a Bengals fan, there were some games you guys played that you won that there was no reason you should have. Any given Sunday my friend. I personally think the Homers are the folks that talk trash on other teams sites ( not that I've noticed you doing much of that ). I mean they are probably such blind Homers that they were chased of their own teams sites because they couldn't be objective about their team.

Miami 27 Cinci 17

Lamar Gordon 125+ yards rushing

Chris Chambers 130+ yards on 6 catches

Feeley 3 TD passes 0 INT's 250+ yards

Palmer 1 TD pass 2+INT's under 200 Yards

Miami needs this game or we're gonna be looking in rough shape. It'd be hard to give up on the Fins. But with all the negativity around this franchise this year, realistically we're not gonna go the playoffs, as good as our defense is we're just not good enough on offense. Lamar Gordon WILL NOT be the answer at RB, he'll be adequate and a good backup in the future but he's not gonna be the starting RB next season, and It's questionable if Feeley will be the starting QB next season. It's almost a foregone conclusion that Dave is gone, with the whole coaching staff could be removed. I'm not giving up but i'm looking more foreward to the offseason than this season...

Carson Palmer looks sensational......he is going to be outstanding...but, the Bengals are just not there yet...I predict 9-7 season.

Miami 24
Cincy 21

The Bengals scare me it would have been nice just to put a checkmark in the win column but we cant the bengals have a lot of weapons and a confident strong armed young qb.The pluses miami has going for it are A (proven)veteran ball hawking pressure D and some young upside on O but the O is our huge question mark Just like the bengals D is yours It should be a very interesting game as our strength is going against our strength and our weakness is going against yours ANYTHING can happen.

What about the rest of you Fin fans?
Cincy has a well-balanced offense. Chad Johnson is a premiere receiver, and Rudi is a very good RB. They will score points against ANY defense, ours included. However, the Dolphins D will hold their own, and limit them to 17 points or less.

As for the other side of the ball, Miami would most likely lose this game if Fiedler were starting. Thankfully, Wannstedt pulled his head out of his @ss long enough to promote Feeley. With that in mind, he will establish an early presence with McMichael, and will utilize Chambers more effectively (can you say... bomb?). I also feel that Gordon will hold his own. Granted, he will struggle to get 100 yards, but he will keep the defense honest, and will most likely see about 3-5 receptions.

I expect this to be a game won by a field goal, but I honestly feel that Miami will come away the victor.

Whoa!!!!!!.. Can I get a hit??? :) :goof:

Just for the record, I have been respectful to you guys during my visit to your board.. I dont think yer homers for rooting for your team, but I surely think some of your predictions are a bit 'out of hand'... I could see us losing POSSIBLY, but I seriously doubt it, and I can almost guarantee it wont be the spanking some of you are implying..

As for Palmer comments, I have followed his deveopment.. I am not 'on Carson's nuts'... His progress in the offseason I got to watch first hand as well. I am not just going off last week.. The boy has skills and if you think your D is just going to shut that down cold, (Especially in its banged up condition) you are crazy! (I do realize some of you acknowledged his abilities so this is only directed toward some)

Palmer is going to be a good QB...I got to see his preseason and he looks like he deserves it. That said I do'nt think its "off" to predict a dolphin victory. Even without Surtain Miami's D is still top ten with the new additions to CB depth. I think both of our posters are a little "Homer nuts" including the ones that say they aren't and the people who are labeling the other people. Alot of us predicted miami to lose to the Titans and you know what they did, looking at the history though...there's nothing to point to the Bengals as being clear cut winners. Miami wasn't exactly a pushover to the Titans...Whom many still believe are superbowl players or atleast a playoff team. We'll see this sunday night.

I dont understand where you Bengals fans get off thinking that because you went 8 - 8 last year your all the sudden a team to be reckoned with.. Last year your defense sucked, and after game one it only was proof that it is yet again going to be near the bottom of the league.

Yes I agree with you some of the scores are outrageous but I am sticking to my prediction of

Miami 24
Cincy 10 or 13

Our first game was a mess, Fiedler was in then Feeley was in Gordon had been their for 2 days and was thrown in to get most of the RB duties... We are now going with a FULL week of practice with Gordon as #1 and Feely as #1

Fiedler didnt even throw to McMichael once, and as soon as AJ got in their he saw the man was open constantly, and he used it to his advantage.. Im sure Cincy looked at that and now are gonna cover McMike better which makes Booker and Chambers even MORE appealing now..

Curtis Martin ran all over you.. CURTIS MARTIN.. dont get me wrong, hes a good back but his 196 yards in one game days are long behind him..

Chambers is pissed about last game, the man wants the ball, and if I was Miami I would throw it to him.. Hes a competitor, a gamer, and the fact that he is ASKING for the ball more only excites me because I know he is gonna show Miami that downfield throwing needs to become more common, hes gonna get the job done.

With as bad as your D did last week, that just means our D wont have to be on the field as much as they were against Tennessee.. So I wouldnt sit there and act like "I could see us losing POSSIBLY, but I seriously doubt it" is a legit statement to make..

Very well put.. And I am not saying we will indefinately win.. Obviously the players need to put forth the effort and refrain from mistakes.. In all honesty, ANYONE can beat ANYONE... Any given Sunday... Remember..

And I love the fact that a lot of the NFL seems to still think of us as the 'Bungles'.. It will be nice to surprise people the first half of the season and finally make them realise we are not the 'automatic win' we once seemed to be.

I must post this smiley too

:nesucks:
