If not for the ravens botching it, we would have been the first 0-16 team in NFL history and the fallout from that would have been devastating and carried with me for the rest of my life.

Now we are 2-4 but we have been in every game except the falcons game. Our team is competing with the best teams in the NFL

I did not see a huge talent gap yesterday (except at WR) but in the trenches we even had the advantage...

do you guys understand just how bad our offensive line has been for almost 10 years now? not too mention watching teams run right up the gut on us play after play after play

we have the #1 hardest schedule in the NFL this year and we are playing really tough ball.

I was hesitant but I will acknowledge that Ginn just may never be what we need him to be, but we still have 10 games.

Be thankful that this franchise is on the way up after bottoming out.

The schedule has nothing to do with...just freaking execute and Miami could be 4-2 or even 5-1...also the 07 dolphins are far from being the worst team in NFL history they were competitive in most of those games...I can think of a lot more worse teams than that dolphins team.

Exactly.

The 07 Phins lost 8 games by 10 points or less. 6 by 3 or less. It all comes down to execution, once again something this team cannot seem to do on a consistent basis.

being the first 0-16 team, no matter how close the games were, would be beyond devastating.

if you don't see a night and day difference between our team right now and our team 2 years ago then there is something wrong.

at what point do the excuses stop...3 years from now will you be saying we are 5 years removed from 1-15?

The only difference is MIA is beating teams worse than them that's it...next step is to 2:beat elite teams at home which MIA has failed to do for quite some time then 3:beat elite teams on the road...and finally do steps 1,2,and 3 consistently.

I can see an improving team but at the same time, we were the best in the league about NOT turning the ball over and making stupid mistakes last year, this year is a completely different team. We are making boneheaded mistakes and our WRs are no where near middle of the road guys. can I see improvements? yes, but then I see no consistancy.

Cameron and Saban really put the nail in the coffin, Wanny started nailing, but these 2 guys really hurt the franchise ... Saban for all his genius, he drafted like crap and relied too much on F/A to build the team ... Cameron came in a gutted, but didn't replace with anything worth keeping, and the remaining pieces from both Saban and Cam might not make it past this year ... Soliai, is a backup at best, Ginn can't catch a cold let alone a football, and runs like he wants to hide... Crowder is servicable at best... the only 3 players from those 3 years of crappy drafting are Brown, Roth and Jason Allen ... i say Allen, only because he contributes on special teams and he is worth keeping around just for that alone, but hopefully at a cheaper price.... Roth while he hasn't been healthy, has show to be an above average Strongside OLB ... he also is still relatively young... and Ronnie, well his play speaks for itself...

We were in the bottom 3rd in talent two years ago.

Now we are closer to the half-way mark.

Another two solid drafts and we'll be legitimate contenders. Now if Henne pans out, it accelerates everything.

i never felt comfortable with Saban, because of his desire to be in the NCAA instead of the NFL ... he was clueless with the draft process ... great defensive mind, but thats it!!! Cam was too full of himself as a head coach, he is one of those guys that are best suited to stay as a Coordinator ...BP, Ireland and Sparano had their work cut out for them... they made the left overs play like they belonged in the NFL and the drafting process became an art and a science, not the crap shoot, the others (Cam and Saban) made it to be.... look i know you guys aren't liking this 2010 and 2011 talk... but in reality thats how you build a team... it's the only true proven formula to winning consistantly!!!

Sorry, but I am still proud to be a phins fan today. This loss hurts, but I see alot of good going on with this franchise.

I watch every game, including all games from 2007 and the team we have now is very competitive but shy a couple players. A big go to WR would mask a few things for us I think but without that we can only go so far.

I am depressed about Ginn, but the overall toughness and talent in the trenches is SOOO MUCH BETTER than it has been since 2001 or so.

I agree. we can put up points because our offensive line is pretty darn good at runblocking and decent at pass protection. we can't get away from our strengths and still win games...

Earth to greenmiamicat! pay attention! You have selective reading disorder. You just missed the entire point of the post.

The 2007 Dolphins also posted performances like this:

Dallas 20-37
Raiders 17-35
Patriots 28-49
Jets 13-40
Bills 17-38
Patriots 7-28

That is a talent gap. We do not have a talent gap. Execution does nothing when you have lack of talent.
