Does anyone remember the 2000 draft? I was just flipping through the Street and Smith's Draft Preview guide for the 823798723 time and I just noticed that the jest had FOUR first rounders that draft! Anyone know HOW they came about them?

I remember they got like 12 and 27 from tampa for Keyshawn, plus the one they had.

oh yeah the other was from the patsies for BB. I think in all they had 12,13,16,27 or something like that

Ahhh, thanks guys, I saw on nfl.com's draft histry page WHO they got, I just couldn't remember how they got FOUR 1st rounders.

Wow i was looking at the dolphins draft history and in 1997 we had 14 picks, oretty good draft class thanks to jimmy.. we got in that draft, madison, taylor, derrick rodgers, yatil green, brent smith, ed perry.. not bad..

Did you also notice that, with the exception of 2 or 3 drafts, our SECOND round picks have all been pro bowlers or just under pro bowl calibur?

I think that was the year that the jets got raked over the coals by the Redskins... didn't they get a few picks in exchange?

I'll see if I can look it up.

Here's how it looks like it went down:

The Jets get a 1st round pick (16th) in the 2000 draft due to Bellichick's leaving for NE while under contract with them. They traded that pick to SF and end up with their 18th overall first rounder. THen they traded Keyshawn Johnson for TBs 2 1st rounders. The 18th, their pick, and the 2 1st rounder gave them 4 1st rounder which was an NFL record.

Many experts often wonder how much more they would have sucked had they not had such a large boost in young talent
