2001-2003 Dolphins or 2005 Dolphins?

Which team was better ?Wanny and the fiedler crab,or Sabo and Gus...? If you go to this link at MiamiDolphins.com u can look at all the stats,but some were very similiar in some stats, on OFF and DEF and season records.Ricky running for 1800 and 1400 yards, 4500 and 5000 total yards seasons,def doing good on a couple of those years.passing yards over 3,000
and chambers,mcmike,McKnight having a decent year.2005 team,had a way worse OL, way worse Secondary,better LB's,D-Line close to being measurable.but also had 5,000 total yards.
IMO 2005 team is better,because we were way more explosive,way better shemes on Def and Off and Had a tough,Blitzing Def even with a weaker secondary.
If you look at it closely, a new system,young players,foolish penalties,poor
execution many times on passes and catches,weak OL, and probaly not as talented players on the roster in all in general,So really the 2005 stats aren't that bad and maybe This team and Gus especially, along with the coaches deserve alot of respect! Sabo goes without saying,i'm pretty sure
we all agree he is a Titan! Which teams were yalls fav,Mine was last year,mainly because of all the explosive passing plays and The front 8 on their swarming pressure type play! Not to mention the heart this team showed after being totally written off after their 3-7 start,2006 will be a better team if the roster is about even or a lil better after draft and maybe some FA'S...I kow it might be a tough call,but notice how Gus really didn't do all that bad if you look at all the statistics...Gus as a backup will help us if he will restucture or take a lower salary....Roll it around andthink about which team was more fun to watch when things were going good,which scheme,and over all ,more fun to watch....

That was a Nice read and very interesting. I think that the other team had more talent however Saban has proved to be a way better coach than what Wanny was. I like last year cause we were the underdog however it was nice making the plaoffs back than. I think this year is going to be really nice.

Not even close, I never had any faith in the Wannstedt teams, never believed that they could or would win the big games.

Although its early yet in the Saban era, that has all changed for me, I now believe again in the people running this football team.

Dave Wannsted was a genius, on two big aspects: public relations and how to downgrade any area of a football team.
Even Jim Bates showed an impresive upgrade in the morale of that team.
As I see it we have a better roster in our 2003 team than our 2005, but story have told that numbers were quite different.

if saban had the roster of the 03 dolphins it would be lights out. no doubt. saban is a god and dave is a mere peasent. imagine it...saban's dolphins:ogunleye, ricky in his prime, the best CB duo in dolphins history, it would be crazy.

While people may not want to admit it, those 200-2003 teams were clearly better. The proof is in the results -- those teams simply won more games. Their offesnive ranking were comparable, but their defenses were better. And most of those teams went to the playoffs. Let's face it, that 6 game run at the end of last year was against 4 of the 10 worst teams in the NFL (NYJ, Buffalo, Oakland and Tenn.) and against the Pats' second and third stringers. And almost all of those games were very, very close at that. The Charger win was nice, but even that was part of a 1-3 collapse at the end of the year.

That said, it is not a far jump to being a competitor next year, especially if we can upgrade at QB.

Our 2002 team that lost the final 2 games to miss the playoffs was a super bowl caliber team!! We absolutely dominated the future AFC champion Raiders(50 yards of offense in 1st half)...but the combo of Ray Lucas and Wanny destroyed another season!!

Here is one thing I will personally gauruntee.......If Saban EVER has the leagues leading rusher, top sack man, top 3 defense in the same year..he will NOT miss the fu----g playoffs:fire:
