I dont Miami should draft a Qb in the 1st round cause i expect there to be a few very good Qbs in the 2nd,3rd,4th rounds.I look at last years 1st round Qbs and A.Smith is horrible.Im looking more at the Qb from Toledo he looks good Cutler looks good to.But i think Miami has big needs they can fill with that 1st round pick.Im looking at LBs,Saftys,Cbs.
LBs.
Aj.Hawk/Ohio St 6-1 240
C.Greenway/Iowa 6-4 244
D.Ryans/Alabama 6-2 232
B.Carpenter/Ohio St 6-3 255
Aj.Nicholson-I think this guy is being overlooked a lil bit.
ILB
D.Jackson/Maryland 6-1 231
A.Hodge/Iowa 6-2 234
K.Simon/Tenn 5-11 234
Saftys
L.Landry/LSU 6-2 187
D.Bing/USC 6-1 220
G.Threat/UM 6-2 193
CBs
J.Williams/VT 6-3 216
M.Huff/Texas 6-1 205
T.Hill/Clemson 5-10 180
D.Minter/UG 6-0 198
K.Jennings/UM 6-0 177

Miami could screw up if they dont get Cutler in the 1st round because he probably wont be on the board still in the 2nd round. Cutler is a fine QB. he's the second best QB in the draft and he is deffenitly worth a 1st rounder. Saban loves SEC players too.

Qbs u can find in the later rounds are.
D.Hackney/UAB 6-1 240
B.Croyle/Alabama 6-3 205
C.Whitehurst/Clemson 6-4 220
K.Clemens/Oregon 6-2 218
P.Pinegar-Fresno St 6-4 220
B.Basanez/Northwestern 6-2 215
B.Gradcowski-Toledo 6-2 210

If Cutler is still there when Miami picks and they pass him or if he is gone when we get to draft dont freak out. There are other Qbs.But i think Miami takes Cutler.

If the Saban does take Cutler, should he and can he help right away? An even stronger O line and D line should be as much a priority. Remember, we have two very good RB's and neither are tearing through D's...

As far as QB's go, Rivers might be a good fit. Two years watching and learning and not getting pounded.

If Saban has Cutler ranked lets say.....#10 and is still on the board at #15 or 16 when we pick, he will take him. If he has him ranked 25 and he sees a Greenway who he has ranked 15 or before, he will probably take him. He will follow his board.

No one knows where anyone is right now. People on this board have elected Cutler as the real deal at our spot but he has not been disected completely yet.

You almost never start a Qb at first u allow him time to learn.I say Miami drafts Cutler and picks up Kitna from the Bengals. And allow him to teach Cutler the ins and outs of the nfl.Just like he did with Carson Palmer.

i dont know where this facination with Kitna comes from. Kitna is no better than Frerrote and Gus is here like it or not. Linehan will go with his man especially as the offense is gelling. You would want a Cutler to learn from gus cus he knows the offense, not Kitna, who knows nothing.

Cutler reminds me of Boller of the Ravens. His stock will shoot up come draft day, and he'll show little on the field. Hope Im wrong especially is we get him, Im just saying all this hype for a guy..Could be dangerous for us.

After getting torched by the 3rd string QB of the Jets(is there any passing game that couldnt destroy our measly secondary?), I now think it is entirely reasonable to expect a CB in th 1st unless we solve our woes in FA or someone drops down that is too good to pass up.

Great post, I don't understand the logic of going from one journeyman QB to another. Any Journeyman QB that starts will be replaced in a season or two by the QB we draft this year. At least Gus knows the offense (better than anybody one the team, definitely better than some free agent QB.), and has started to develop good chemistry with receivers and offense period.

i dont think no other team will take Cutler before us. Im pretty sure the Lions wont take him because they have other issues besides a QB, the Ravens are going to stick with Boller, now that hes healthy and they know what hecan do. I think for the Cardinals to take him is too high of a pick for Cutler, besides the Cards are looking for a stud at RB. Cutler should be there for Miami in the 1st round. Hes our best bet. If not then i like Darrel Hackney from UAB, he has a strong arm and is a tough player, he'll probably will be a late 2nd rounder or a solid 3rd rounder. Rivers wouldnt be a good fit for our offence, he has no mobility and doesnt have much of a arm.

I think it would better to have him learn from Gus... he knows the offense and is OK until the new guy is ready. No sense in spending money on anyone who isn't in the long term plans.
