I know that this has been discussed ad nauseum for since Matt Cassel's final pass hit the frozen turf in Foxboro back in January's win in New England, but I really think we have the making of a truly devastating force in the NFL this fall....if everything does fall into place (excuse the pun), just look at the possibility...................

2006 Miami Dolphins Starting Offense

Wide Receiver Chris Chambers, Marty Booker
Tackles Tom Ashworth (left), Vernon Carey (right)
Guards Rex Hadnot (right), Jeno James (left)
Center Kevin Mawae
Tight End Randy McMichael
Quarterback Drew Brees
Running Backs Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams
Full Back Damian Barnes

2006 Miami Dolphins Starting Defense

Defensive Ends Kevin Carter, Jason Taylor
Nose Tackles Keith Traylor, Sam Adams
Defensive Tackles Vonnie Holliday, Manuel Wright
Linebackers Zach Thomas, Channing Crowder, Donnie Spragan
Cornerbacks Travis Daniels, Will Poole
Safeties Lance Schulters, Yeremiah Bell

Couple that without the coaching staff Saban has built, plus the draft and I'd say we have one helluva team!
:dolphins:

also the secondary still worries me, do you think we'll draft/sign a corner/safety as a priority?

I'd say we should draft a good corner/safety in the first round....offensive lineman/quarterback in the 2nd round. If we do get Brees I'd say draft a QB thats decent in the 3rd round. But defense is the primary focus in the draft i believe...

wow sorry b ut not enoguh YET to have a good D. we need a LB really bad, 2 CB really bad adn a S if not 2 b/c we are prob not resigning Lance and i have heard that ashworth from other forums is not all taht good as he is better at RT then LT and he does have back problems i bleieve it was. i would rather go for someone else b/c they also said he has NO upside and this is hte best he will eb as for shelton on the other hand ahs the opportunity to be a top 10 LT.

in the espn power rankings we are 8.
and as they reported the top ten they said, "look for the dolphins to move up even farther after free agency and the draft, they could be top five easily"

How do you figure we need 2 CB really bad? We already have Travis Daniels who played very well at the end of the year as a rookie. If Poole returns to form he can be solid at the other corner.

Doesn't this statement assume a CBA is in place, in which case we could really make some moves in Free Agency.

And I really hope we re-sign Schulters. How much more can we afford to lose in our secondary. It's in worse shape then a expansion teams. Here's hoping Will Poole lives up to expectations.

Huh?

Did I miss something here? When did Poole ever have a form to return too? Did he play a full game or something ever?

I am very concerned about the secondary much like most of this forum. I am a believer of Travis Daniels, but Will Poole sat out all last season, I just hope that you guys are right about him. If we get a CB early in the draft I'd be pretty happy. We could use a safety as well. But if we get Brees in FA and draft the needed players then we could be top 5 yea.

If Will Poole and Travis Daniels are our corners were in trouble..no offense to daniels and poole but we need better cb's

people buy houses here all the time.

my god. why do people want an AGING receiver who only wants his needs met first?

good thing you aren't coach.

You mean T.O. is going to taint our team without even being on it? Damn you TO!!! The T.O. Body fumes permeate the Miami Air and everything good in Miami withers and dies!

Yea..we may have another corner or safety in there..and we may have Willie McGinest at LB.
