Still Perfect.. and You're Not.
QB:
In 2006 our Quarterback for 75% of the season was Joey Harrington and it is safe to say that the H inHarrington stands for horrible. The guy just doesn't have the "it" that you need to be a succesful NFL Quarterback. The first 4 games Daunte Culpepper started but it was more than obvious that he was nowhere near the same QB that he was once do to the fact that he was nowhere near healthy. In the season finale Cleo lemon took the helm nd though it was obvious that it was his first NFL start, there was much of an excitment in the air. In 2007 we should expect much improved QB play. Whether Trent Green or Daunte Culpepper is the starter, the position should be much improved. Trent green is a solid QB in the league and at times spectacular. I know that he is no spring chicken but with that siad he could defiantly give us two eyars as the starting while John Beck develops. Culpepper on the other hand should be much healthier taking into consideration that his knee has had time to heal. John Beck was a steal in the 2nd round and has the poise, arm, and brain to be a very succesful QB in the NFL. Cleo Lemon is the best 3rd string QB in the league and is a smart player.
RB: The last game of the season we saw Ronnie Brown could be an impact player in the league. He was running jets over up and down the field. I think he improves more than anyone on the team and thrives under the Cam Cameron system. We are better at this position because Lorenzo Booker was drafted in the 3rd round who is a great pass catcher and change of pace back. If Ricky Williams returns to the team as the backup we wuld have upgrade here morethan any position. Cory Schlesinger is a great fullback and should open holes larger than Jenna Jamesons' for Ronnie to run through.
TE: This position is up in the air and it comes down to Randy McMichael vs. David Martin. Though the first impression that we have downgraded drastically but I don't know. McmIchael was so inconsistent and may have lead the league in drops. I liked McMike but don't know if releasing him was a bad move what so ever. David Martin is an underrated pass catcher and could thrive in our system. He had a pretty redicolous TD against us last year.
OL: Damien MacIntosh, Bennie Anderson, and Jeno James are gone . Thank God. Are we better, we shall see. I belive so. Chris Lewinski is a solid player and he and Joe Toledo should fight for a starting position. Rex Hadnot and Samson Satale should acquire starting roles for the rest of the interior line . Vernon Carey and LJ Shelton will be the tackles; Carey has more experience under his belt and hopefully will pan out. He became a premier right tackle in his years with the Fins. Anthony Alabi, Mike Rosenthal, and Drew Mormino woill provide much needed depth. the jury is out but by addint a talent like Samson Satale, the O-Line should get more push this year and be more effective than in the past.
WR: The position as a whole will improve with consistency at the QB position. Chambers should bounce back and have a great season and Marty Booker should remain as a solid # 2. Reports indicate that Derek Hagan has been a man on a mission and has shown great improvement. Kelly Campbell and Az Hakim are fighting for the 5th and final roster spot. Ted Ginn Jr. will be an immeadiate impact player and will benefit the team at both receiver and as a returner. Ginn can stretch the field and has the unbelievable speed to open up the passing games for Booker and Chambers. iami Dolphin fans will regret the day they booed Tedd Ginn Jr as this guy will be a special player in the league.
Defense: Our defense as a whole should be even better than what we were last year. That's scary considering we were the #4 ranked Defense in the league last year. Joey porter will bee an emmotional leader as well as an impact player. Jason Allen should push for a starting spot at one of our corner positions. Matt roth will be an upgrade over Kevin Carter at the other end position.
