Last year the Miami Dolphins defense impressed the football world by finishing as the 4th rated defense in the entire league. Zach Thomas had one of his best years and Jason Taylor won defensive MVP of the National Football League. Is it fair that this years defense could fair even better than last years? I think so. We are waiting for Zach Thomas and Jason Taylor to slow down but I can tell you to keep waiting because these guys are football players and are still among the best at their positions in the game today. The Dolphins were able to resign Vonnie Holliday, coming off his best year as a pro and Yeremiah Bell, who has potential to be a big time play maker. Matt replaces Kevin Carter at defensive end which in my opinion will be a huge upgrade for our organization. Carter was old and was not as diminant as he once was; Roth is a complete animal and has no concerns besides infilicting pain and winning. This guy gives the defense some energy and even Carter said this guy would be a Pro-Bowler in the future. Will Allen and Andre Goodman did a good job for us last year and will do so again this year. The corner position will be improved even more with Travis Daniels being healthy for the entire season. Jason Allen, the versatile defensive back , will have a whole camp to learn the defensive scheme and will be able to contribute as the team's starting free safety; I don't know about those who think he is a bust ebcause what I saw was that he was always around the ball and now will learn the speed of the pro game and be a tremendous football player.

aqua man.......but im excited for the havoc we will wreak on defense...just hoping we can do the same on offense

when i think of teal.. dolphins don't come to mind........ i'd imagine every team with a teal looking color has their own name for it. The name is aqua because of what it is based on. agua. and the orange is sunshine.

The defense should be top 5 again...... i have more confidence in our top 3 corners than most do..... and Hill, Bell, Allen make for a solid safety crew. Front 7 should be dominant if Traylor can stay healthy and/or the young DTs step up.

Great post. I agree but I dont think Daniels will be more than a nickel corner. Im fine with the safety position but I think we need upgrades at corner. Although with our D line and blitzing linebackers being so good that will hide the deficiencies on the secondary

Draft Okoye at #9 for DT and Miami will have a good to great pass rusher at every position of the front seven with a DC who loves to send in the heat.

All our secondary needs to do is stay on their man for 3-4 seconds.

Teal?????

Are you talking about the Jags D? They have teal as one of their colors.

I think you highly overestimate Allen and Goodman's production.
