2007 NFL 6 Round MOck

You know we wouldnt be picking #10 every round. All teams tied with same record would be rotating after the 1st round.

I like some of your selections but you may want to adjust some things based on all teams rotating if tied records, etc.

P.S. If we got Mozez (C - WV) in the 6th I would be a happy camper, but no way he lasts that long IMO without a scandel or and injury and I dont wish for either. Good kid!

If we take a DT and a CB with 2 or the 1st 3 picks, we are toast next year. We NEED offense.

I prefer Willis (OLB) in RD1, Steve Smith (WR) the lesser Rd 2, and no way we draft Crosby (K) in RD 4.

From that list I would have
1) CB Marcus McCauley (I prefer Patrick Willis as BPA but think we need CB more- also as sick as makes me say it, if neither were available I wouldnt mind Laron Landry- it wouldnt be a bad thing to have the next Ed Reed) Brian Brohm if he's available gets this pick but apparently this guy thinks he stays in school

2) LOT Joe Staley - He could start year one but may need at least one more year to bulk up to be special

3) C Ryan Kahlil - Think he might be better than Mangold but I dont think he'll be available (OLB Anthony Waters might be another consideration- could be another Channing Crowder)

4) QB Kevin Kolb (if we had Brohm however I would go WR Tony Gonzalez)

6)CB Eric Wright (could use him as kick returner in 2007 while we teach him pro techniques but he's got speeed to burn)

Free Agency

OLB Adalius Thomas
WR Kevin Curtis
OG Eric Steinbach or CB Nate Clements (Cant afford both)

Now we are in business!!!

Id like Clements over Steinbach!! our team would and should be great

IMO, after watching our receivers this year, Ted Ginn Jr would be the choice for me. I would look also in round 2 at Amobi Okoye, a DT from Louisville. He's a senior who I believe is only 20 years old. Huge upside.

I draft your avatar

i didnt look at the whole draft just the first and all i have to say is HELL YEAH alan branch is one bad muthafuka and he will be our next tim bowens

Our offense is a lot younder than our defense so defense should be the main focus in the draft. Saban also tends to draft defensive players and with 6 of our best Defensive Linemen being over 30 it is time to get younger.

1st: Alan Branch is the best DT in the draft and one of the best defensive players. Branch next to a Rod Wright or a Fred Evans would give us a combo similar to Tim Bowens and Larry Chester when we USED to make the playoffs.

2nd: Doug Free being here is a steal. Left Tackle is one of our biggest needs and I think drafting him would be similar to Marcus McNeil falling to the Chargers in the 2nd Round last year.Free is the 3rd best Tackle in the draft and would be a better option than anyone in free agency.

3rd: Tanard Jackson is a very solid corner and has great instincts. Pipe dreams of Nate Clements wanting to play here should die and we should realize Corner is a HUGE need for us. WIll Allen, Andre Goodman, and Travis Daniels are all pretty solid but none of them are shutdown corners.

4th: Mason Crosby: Olindo Mare has been responsible for 3 of our losses this year practically and with that high cap figure he will not be a party of this team next year. Crosby is the best kicker in the NCAA.

6th: Dan Mozes: Guard/Center player who could be a solid linemenr for us.

I like Ted Ginn or Dwayne Jarrett myself but the fact is that we have too much$$$$ invested in Chris Chambers. Wide Receiver, believe it or not, is not a major need for us; I still think Chris Chambers is a very good receiver. Left Tackle, Defensive Tackle, Corner and QB are our major needs. I belive Culpepper comes back to be a solid player for us.

Doug Free is just plain horrible. My god that guy gets beat day in and day out by the inside move. In the bowl game, he looked like he didn't know what he was doing.

Someone has already reported the rumor that the Dolphins would like to find a speed receiver, so it may not be as far fetched as it sounds.

I would do the following:

1 - De Woodley (use as OLB in the 3-4 defense) or LT
2 - LT or Wr (our future #1)
2/3 - Qb Brohm (if he comes out) or WR
3 - WR or CB
4 - C Mozes
4/5 - K Crosby (our new kicker)
6/7 - Backup RB, Safety, and WR to return kicks and punts

Trade Chris Chambers for a 2nd or 3rd
Trade Ricky Willliams for 4-6 round pick

Look at FA for CB, LT, We, and OLB. If we get a good player at any of those positions move other needs up accordingly. All these moves would be nice IF the salary cap allows.

With all the young DTs in Evan, Vickerson, Wright, and Wright I think we set at DT. If a FA provides depth - great.
