Power Rankings

1) New England Patriots
- They still have Tom Brady and added Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth and Adalius Thomas.

2) San Diego Chargers
Encore for LT; Phil Rivers becomes a star

3) Indianapolis Colts
To quote the Nature Boy Ric Flair, “To be the man, you have to beat the manâ€Â

4) New Orleans Saints
The modern day, greatest show on turf.

5) Philadelphia Eagles
McNabb is back and has something to prove.

6) Chicago Bears
They still have a great D and in the NFC that is all you need.

7) Denver Broncos
When you play Denver try to run because it will be hard to pass when Champ Bailey and Dre Bly are on the field.

8) St. Louis Rams
Talk about offensive weapons: Marc Bulger, Steven Jackson, Torry Holt, Issac Bruce, Drew Bennett, Randy McMichael, and Dante Hall…WOW

9) Seattle Seahawks
Alexander and Hassleback are healthy and should have this team winning some games.

10)Cincinatti Bengals
Carson will be fighting for league MVP

11)Dallas Cowboys
Just an overall solid team

12)Miami Dolphins
Combining the Dolphins 4th ranked defense with Joey Porter is just plain scary. Not to mention that the Dolphins finally have a reliable Quarterback in Trent Green

13)Baltimore Ravens
McNair is old and injury prone and they lost AD but they still have Ed Reed and Terrell Suggs.

14)Carolina Panthers
I smell a QB controversy brewing in Carolina….

15)Pittsburgh Steelers
Big Ben could be in line for comeback player of the year.

16)San Francisco 49ers
They had a good off-season but let’s not forget that they are very young. They will improve but no playoffs for San Fran yet..

17)Jacksonville Jaguars
I know a lot of people like the Jags but the fact is that their QB is still Leftwitch; they even signed Tim Couch. Talk about desperation

18)Detroit Lions
Not so fast Kitna, don’t predict 10 wins, your still the Lions.

19)New York Jets
Mangenius doesn’t even have enough tricks up his sleeve. The Jets overachieved last year and it won’t happen this year.

20)Arizona Cardinals
Their offense is going to be fun to watch.

21)Tama Bay Buccaneers
Can Caddy find his stride?

22)New York Giants
Will Eli be a bust? Will Strahan retire? Can Jacobs replace Tiki? Wow there are a lot of questions surrounding this team
23)Green Bay Packers
The only thing positive the Packers will experience is Farve beating Marino’s all time passing TD record.

24)Kansas City Chiefs
If LJ holds out they are screwed, big time.

25)Cleveland Browns
Brady Quinn holding out after all the draft experts said he was a class act..

26)Washington Redskins
Their defensive line is the league’s worst

27)Atlanta Falcons
Mike Vick, enough said.

28)Tennessee Titans
Eric Mould is their best offensive weapon besides Vince Young meaning they only have one weapon unless they check Pac Man’s locker.

29)Houston Texans
Matt Schaub had a lot of hype; let’s see him live up to it. They should still be kicking themselves for passing on Reggie Bush

30)Minnesota Vikings
They should try to get Culpepper back because they have no QB

31)Oakland Raiders
Jamarcus holding out? Steroids for Dominic Rhodes. This team might be drafting 1st overall once again

32)Buffalo Bills
The off-season saw them lose their best players in Willis McGahee, Nate Clement, London Fletcher, and Takeo Spikes.

MIAMI DOLPHINS:

QB: 8.4

-Trent Green comes to a familiar system ran by a familiar coach. Green is an extremely efficient Quarterback who should provide the Fins will stability at the helm. Green is the best Quarterback to step foot in Miami since Dan Marino and even at the age of 37 Green should prove to be very effective. Green is surrounded by a plethora of offensive weapons and should benefit greatly by having Chris Chambers, Marty Booker, Ronnie Brown, Derek Hagan, and Ted Ginn Jr.

-If training camp is any indication of how good John Beck is going to be than the Miami Dolphins selected the BEST Quarterback in the entire draft. Beck, a student of the game, has show a strong arm, pin point accuracy, and a great understanding of the game. Despite being blasted by the Media the Dolphins made the right move in passing on Quinn for the combination of Ginn and Beck. Beck reminds me a lot of Drew Brees or Marc Bulger and will learn a lot from Trent Green.

-Cleo Lemon is currently the backup but will be surpassed by Beck before the start of the season. Lemon played fairly well in Week 16 against the New York Jets last year. Lemon is a solid backup and will continue to improve because Lemon isn’t a guy who will settle for 3rd string.

RB: 9.0

-Ronnie Brown will have a breakout year and become an elite NFL Running back. Ronnie is going to be a workhorse this season and should strive in Cam’s offensive system. Despite rumors, Ronnie Brown is in tremendous shape and has been looking great in camp thus far. I predict Ronnie Brown will be last year’s Steven Jackson.

-One reason for Ronnie Brown’s success will be the addition of Cory “sludge†Schlesinger. This guy is a mean SOB who loves to go out and hit people. He will open some big holes for Ronnie to run free thru.

-Lorenzo Booker is the perfect complement to Ronnie Brown. Booker’s versatility as a runner and a pass catcher will make him a valuable addition to the Miami offense. Booker brings big play ability and was a complete steal in round 3 of this years’ draft.

- Jesse Chatman has been running hard and he has played for Cam before. I expect him to make the roster.

- Reagan Maua runs thru walls, literally.

WR/TE: 9.2

-Chris Chambers is just two years removed from catching a touchdown in the Hawaii; no question he was a disappointment in 2006 but so was the horrendous play of our Quarterbacks. Chambers will have good continuity with Green and should return to form.

-Marty Booker is solid and it seems that off-season trade rumors have motivated the vet. Booker has look phenomenal in camp thus far; despite strong play and emergence of Derek Hagan I look for Marty Booker to retain his starting position for one more season,

-Derek Hagan has grown up and started playing football. I absolutely loved when the Dolphins snagged Hagan in Round 3 and still believe he will become a very good receiver in this league. I look for Hagan to contribute for the Fins this year.

-Ted Ginn Jr. is finally the homerun hitter, field stretching, play making, wide receiver we have been searching for in Miami for a long long time. Ginn will immediately contribute on special teams as he is the most exciting returner I have ever seen. Ginn will make plays on offense as well; he is just too fast and good to not make an impact. He has looked awesome in camp.

-David Martin is almost as athletic as Antonio Gates; I am in no means saying that he is as good but if he can stay healthy I think he will be every bit as good as Randy McMichael and defiantly more reliable.

-Courtney Anderson clearing wavers and coming to us is an absolute steal. The guy can block his arse off and s a good pass catcher. In his first couple days in camp he has been making some good plays.

OL: 7.8
· If the Dolphins can acquire Pete Kendall than 8.3

-Vernon Carey makes the move to left tackle and rust me he will handle the job well. I think Vernon will blossom into a perennial pro bowler at this position.
-Chris Lewienski is serviceable but I’d much rather see Pete Kendall.
-Drew Mormino is going to be a good linemen but he needs a year or two,
-Anthony Alabi is strong but he needs to get in shape.
-Rex Hadnot and LJ Shelton both will be starting when the season starts and I think it gives us a very strong right side of the line. Cam is just playing with the offensive lines to see who can play and who is not quite ready.
-Samson Satele was a gem in round 2 and will combine with Vernon Carey to anchor our line for years. Samson will be destroying defensive tackles all season and beyond.

DL: 9.5
-Jason Taylor comes off being Defensive Player of the Year and that won’t stop him from doing it again. Jason Taylor will benefit from the addition of Joey Porter more than anyone. Jason Taylor and Shawn Merriman will be battling for defensive player of the year in 2007.

-Matt Roth is an immediate upgrade over veteran Kevin Carter. Saban kept Roth in his cage too long and I expect to be the unsung hero of our team this year.

-Keith Traylor clogs the middle and will dominate centers all year.

-Vonnie Holliday is among the league’s most underrated players; resigning him was a great move by our front office,

-Paul Solia was probably our best draft pick. He is huge and fast. He will contribute this year, no doubt.

- Rod Wright is healthy and has been very impressive this off-season. Wright at one time was a projected 1st round pick and fell to us by injury. People who think were old on defense better think again because we have young stars waiting to happen in Matt Roth, Rod Wright, Paul Solia, Channing Crowder, Yeremiah Bell, and Travis Daniels.

- Mkristo Bruce was a good free agent signing for us.

- Abe Wright is going to a solid hybrid pass rusher.

LB: 9.2

-Zach Thomas has been the heart and soul of this football team for over a decade. Thomas is overlooked by many but we all know how important Zach is to our team. He is like a fine bottle or Merlot, better with age. Just when people write him off, he has the best season of his career.

-Joey Porter is one of the best outside linebackers to ever play the game. He gives us the absolute best pass rush in the league as well as brining the intensity and attitude this team has lacked. With Porter our defense now has an identity. We were ranked fourth overall last year and now we have Porter; the sky is the limit for this defense.

-Channing Crowder might have the best season of our awesome linebacker core. Crowder tallied up over 100 tackles last season and should strive in this defense.

DB: 7.8

-Will Allen has to make more interceptions; beyond that Will Allen does a pretty good job. Will is very solid for us.

-Travis Daniels is healthy and has been an INT machine this preseason in camp. I think we all forget how good Daniels is. I predict big things from Travis in 2007.

-Andre Goodman is a very serviceable nickel back and was a pleasant surprise for us in 2006. Get healthy Andre.

-Everyone is so quick to claim that Jason Allen is a bust. He didn’t get a chance to play much last season but when he did he got an INT, knocked Ben Watson out, and was always around the ball. I thin Allen will develop into a very good corner in this league. He has to work on his ball skills but belong that just needs time on the field.

-Yeremiah Bell and Renaldo Hill are overlooked because they were our biggest play makers last season. I love the tandem on them two and think they will produce as they did in 2006.

K/P: 7.6

-Jay Feeley is certainly more accurate than Olindo Mare but we will miss the field position got us on kick-offs. With that said I would rather have Feeley kicking with the game on the line.

-Brandon Fields is a rookie but he has been absolutely nailing the ball during camp.

Commendable effort but to have us in the top 15 is just wrong. And on top of that you have us beating the Bengals in the Playoffs. How in the world did we manage to stop that passing attack?

Yea, I can't even see us that high at this point, let alone beating the Bengals in the playoffs.

Wow. Number 12... that is surprising. I love our Fins but man 12 is a bit high. To be realistic and yet cautiously optimistic I would say somewhere between 15 and 19 for now. And then hopefully a sharp ramp up to the elite once again as the season goes on!

Gotta love the Bills being dead last. Let them rot. Could not happen to a better (cough.. cough...) team.

Where were the Saints and Ravens ranked last year? Where were the Dolphins ranked last year. Green, Porter, and Ginn are all drastic improvements to their phase in the game.

My question is how the hell will Palmer get the ball when Porter and Taylor are rushing him? Not to mention Matt The Maniac Roth.

Pretty optimistic to assume our pass rush is that amazing that we won't be blockable.

I agree 100% with the Bills ranking. The Bills are really gonna suck this year, Losman is overrated and they lost so many playmakers. In addition to the ones you mentioned they also lost Darwin Walker. Walker was the stud DT they traded Holcomb and Takeo Spikes for. Then they couldn't sign him and lost him to the Bears. Ha ha ha. BILLS SUCK!!!!

Bills at 32 is about right, how's Manny Wright and Darwin Walker working out for you? And to think, teams ran all over you LAST year.....

hahaha i started reading thinking this was like a publishable source......halfway through i started laughing realizing that....this is is the most pro-dolphin media report i have ever laid eyes on, and automatically realized it was a fans opinion........dont get me wrong i love the optimism, and if all the stuff u mention happens, then yea well be that good.....then again, if the all the players on the raiders play like Hall of Famers then theyll go undefeated.....ure gonna have a real long yr with those unreal expectations..peace

Two words for you: Kyle Williams

Remember that name and that will answer your silly question later this season.

are those numbers just something you made up? do any other teams have any numbers? or any breakdowns like you did for us? or was it just one-liners based on nothing for the other 31 teams? I don't mean to fault you, but it just seems a bit too much biased towards us.. good effort though and i do like your analysis of our team though i can't seem to find many negative comments.. surely we have faults?
