This would be an excellent way to improve the team next year. It involves two big defensive free agents and some shifting of old and young players.

COACH - Dom Capers.
*** The reason I would like to promote from within is that I dont think this team can endure another complete overhaul of coaches and systems. Capers has become familiar with the team and we can all agree that Mike Mularkey CANT coach this team. We need to turn around this team with a more balanced attack. Give Ronnie Brown 22-26 carries a game. Bring in a guy like Dwayne Jarrett who uses his body to catch every ball over the middle (something chambers has no idea how to do) and lets aim for an 9-7 season and call it PROGRESS

WR - Chris Chamber / (DRAFT 1) Dwayne Jarrett
WR - Marty Booker / Derek Hagan / Wes Welker
LT - Mike Gandy (SIGN from BUF)
LG - Jeno James
C - Rex Hadnot
RG - LJ Shelton
RT - Vernon Carey
TE - Randy McMichael
QB - Daunte Culpepper
RB - Ronnie Brown / Ricky Williams
FB - Darian Barnes / (DRAFT 3) Brian Leonard

LE - Matt Roth
NT - Fred Evans / Rodrique Wright
DT - Vonnie Holiday (RE-SIGN)
OE - Jason Taylor
SLB - Adalius Thomas (SIGN)
MLB - Zach Thomas
WLB - Channing Crowder
LCB - Nate Clements (SIGN) / (DRAFT 2) Antoine Cason
LS - Yeremiah Bell
RS - Jason Allen
RCB - Will Allen / Travis Daniels

We will NOT draft a FB. Besides that, it is TOO EARLY to predict the lineup. Everything depends on the next head coach and the system he wants to use. He can clean house just like Saban did his first year here.

I dont think we have a chance of signing 3 free agents of that quality. If we get 1 that would be great. There are salary cap issues where many more teams have much more money to spend than we do(New England for example)We have so many players that need to be resigned or replaced since only half the team is signed. We have to sign all these players$$$$plus sign all our draft picks$$$$NOT MUCH LEFT FOR FREE AGENTS and if there is a bidding war we will lose...Get 1 good free agent, hopefully hit on most of our draft picks(unlike the past 2 years)Daunte and Ricky return to play lights out and we could possibly have more than a .500 record.

As much as I would love what you have proposed I dont think it's possible

take care,
Ron

Buffalo is $36M under the cap. We're $18M under the cap, and need to sign 20 players just to field a full roster. It's highly doubtful we'd be able to sign anyone away from Buffalo. By the time we re-sign Holliday, Bell, Welker, and Lemon, we may be less than $10M under.

I also noticed there is no Andre Goodman. Goodman was probably our best coverage guy all season.

Also keep an eye out for Fb Kyle Eckel he will make the team and surprise alot of people

if we draft cason and jarret AND get thomas clements and gandy is a little too unrealistic.

cason and jarret/ landry/adams is realisitic picking up 2 starting defenders from our first 2 rounds b/c our 2nd rounder is an early pick *(39th overall). But gettin clements thomas and gandy is not possible. we stll have to sign our draft picks. i know we can restructure but thomas or briggs will require 3-5 mill a year, clements or samuel will require 4 mill a year, AND trying to sign gandy away from buff lol. I hope we can grab samuel, clements, briggs, or thomas so we address either olb or cb and then we can take the opposite in the first 2 rounds and then either a dlineman, wr, or lt. Cuz then your defense is looking good with 2-3 new starters( either 1 FA, 1 first round draftee or 2 draftees 1 FA on defense).

Better

Jarrett is 6 5 Ginn is 6 1 I would rather have a big rec who can go up and get the ball also Jarett has a lot of speed and good hands he can do it all he owned Leon Hall in the rose bowl Leon Hall will be the second coming of Jabar Fletcher

yea exactly why draft a WR when they can get a cornerback or and outside line backer in the draft rather than signing a CB or OLB

Better

I can not believe there is still a Harrington hugger out there!?!?!?!?! Did you watch the end of the season? Did you see how Harrington "played"? But above all, do you want us to lose 12 to 14 games in 07?

Drafting Brian Brohm might solve our future QB problems. Also, there are alot of OT in this draft. I think we could find a guy who could do the job in the second round. Got to wait and see though for sure.

Oh and another thing, we would be better off with forgetting defensive players in FA and get the best damn Guard in FA and go from there. Jeno James is on his way to being done I think.

sorry for turning this into draft stuff.
