You know, It feels real good seeing a draft class in Bulk on the field making plays together.

Back in the days I think we had like 3 or 4 years that we were hitting on the majority of our draft picks, Picks like Madison, Surtan, Taylor, Thomas, bowens, Gardner etc.. Life was good.

It was so much fun watching those guys get drafted together and growing on the field together.

Now finally after over a decade of draft suckiness :) We finally get to see this again.

I cant wait to see what next years draft brings to us!

Sorry I know its been said before but I am soo excited that their is finally some hope in Miami>

2007 draft looked great at this time last year too.

Let's give the boys some time before we judge them either way.

It's still early. It takes about 3 years to tell how well a draft class really is.

Actually 2007 is still a great draft!

1 9 (9) Ted Ginn Jr. WR Ohio State 2 8 (40) John Beck QB Brigham Young 2 28 (60) Samson Satele C Hawaii 3 7 (71) Lorenzo Booker RB Florida State 4 9 (108) Paul Soliai DT Utah 6 7 (181) Reagan Mauia RB University of Hawaii 6 25 (199) Drew Mormino OL Central Michigan University 7 9 (219) Kelvin Smith ILB Syracuse 7 15 (225) Brandon Fields P Michigan State University 7 28 (238) Abraham Wright DE Colorado

Ted Ginn has been great with Pennington at Qb and he is a BEast on special teams.
Samson Satele(He is tough and he will be facing Jason Fergurson(practice),Vince Wilfork, Chris Jenkins and MArcus Stroud).

John BEck(dont know what to think of him anymore)
Lo Bo(We should have kept him, but he should do great in phillies offense).

Paul Solilia(is playing well and is part of our goal line Defense, he is great Depth).

Reagan Maui( I dont know know, he is great depth but he is on the bubble).

Brandon Fields( he can boom it).

2008
JAKe LONG, Merling, Langford, Thomas, Dan carpenter(starters and future enough said). We have it on four picks thats already great.

Henne needs to be more polished(can wait to see him hook with ginn for bombs next year).

10 picks in the 2007 draft, and come opening day 2008, there will probably be only 4 of them left on the roster.

to be fair though, none of those guys looked really good in preseason last year; Beck looked good against the 3rd stringers, and LoBo didn't play much if at all if I remember correctly. A lot of the hype about last year's team came after Abe Wright and LoBo were making people look silly in mini camp. None of them looked really good from TC on (it became clear early that guys like Ginn and Saoli were still too raw to be counted on heavily, but a new tougher regime may have helped that out)

I thought the 05 class with Ronnie,Roth,Crowder, and Daniels was great. They all stumbled last year (Daniels is no longer with the team), but if nothing else, the 3 first day picks from then have been solid roleplayers for us (and I actually expect Roth and Crowder to have breakout years)

Actually, if you look at our last 5 drafts, we potentially got a lot of guys to build the team around (if they all live up to some of their potential)...

2003-Yeremiah Bell
2004-Vernon Carey (and Rex Hadnot was decent for us while here as was Derrick Pope)
2005-Ronnie Brown,Matt Roth, Channing Crowder
2006-Jason Allen, Derrick Hagan(if he performs in the regular season), Rod Wright (maybe) (Note: Fred Evans could've/should've been on this list)
2007-Ted Ginn, Samson Satale,Paul Saoli, Brandon Fields (Ed Miles for ST)

not great in terms of quantity, but a lot of guys that could become good quality.

Im sorry but I agree that the 2007 draft wasnt all that bad. Ive said it before, it was an OK draft, it was like a 2.5 rating out of a 5. We got some starters such as Ted Ginn, Satele, Fields, and Mauiua(depending on how pre-season goes). Also I think John Beck will be a successful quarterback just not in Miami, and Lorenzo Booker would of been very good in Camerons offense. Also Solai is doing much better and could be our nose tackle of the future. So overall, not a bad draft.

Mauia is gone
Beck is gone
Booker is REALLY gone
Fields was awful last year, he looks better in the pre-season.

Solai is ok
Ginn and Satele look pretty good.

Sometimes it takes an entire draft class to get two solid NFL starters i guess i'm ok with that. But we'll see what happens, it takes 3 years as stated earlier in this thread, not three months.

Yes, in the past we have gotten 1 or two players in the draft that stands out as a playmaker, but what I am talking about is seeing this in Bulk.

It looks like all of the following will be playmakers/Starters for the Dolphins by the end of this year.

Long,Henne,Langford,Merling,Thomas and possibly Parmalee if Ronnie isnt up to 100% this year.

We are talking 6 total Players which I think is simply amazing, when was the last time you really saw a group this good?
