Let me start with the standard "just glad we got there...yada yada yada"

But...

The way the playoffs are falling I think in 40 plus years of football I have never seen such a flawed playoff field and it seems the creme is falling to the bottom...not rising to the top.

I'm starting to really look down on Chad (sorry but thats the way it is) for tossing up a stinker and screwing up what could be the closest we could ever seen to a a gimme superbowl win.

I really think as time goes on this years chance will really sting more and more as we find the future will hold much tougher paths to the championship that could overshadow even better Dolphin teams than this years.

I think the Cards will represent the NFC. That would not be a gimme superbowl. That offense looks way stronger now then they did when they originally torched us.

This was essentially a 1-15 team with a few tweaks and the #1 pick, we had no business even winning 11 games. We need more talent that's all.

So the teams who will get to the Super Bowl don't deserve to or are considered weak? I thought the whole point of being the best team is being the team left standing.

Has the definition changed on what makes a team good?

And you are correct but I don't think facing the Cards is anywhere in the league as facing, let's say the Pats, Colts, Chargers (from the previous years) in the AFC. I'm just saying it never would of been easier than this year. Heck, I'll bet winning the AFC East next year will be tougher than making it through the playoff filed this year.

I don't think it's a blown chance at all. We won our division, had a home playoff game and, lost. We lost to a team that was simply better than we were. That Ravens D was the best unit from either team on the field, and, we got outplayed. Bottom line. If you get outplayed, out physicaled, and whupped in every facet of the game, you don't deserve to win and, it wasn't a missed chance. This was an overachieveing team, and, much like most overachieving team, when things go bad, they go bad fast. The Ravens beat us twice in our house in the same year. They were the better team.

Another classic example of someone displaying a short memory as well as playing the result.

The fact that the Dolphins won the division and made the playoffs was nothing short of a miracle. All that matters now is that the team continues it's winning ways and that Chad Henne pans out as a legit NFL starter (down the line).

Thats a little simplistic. Teams get on runs while other teams have bad days. Have that happen a number of times and you have what we have this year. Do they "deserve it", yeah but it dosen't make them the class of the '72 Dolphins or the '85 bears.

Just because many teams have won in the playoffs that shouldnt have does not mean we should of been at the top. Baltimore is a premier team only second to pitt in the AFC, they will not lost to SD. Though I agree we could of beaten SD.

dont know if you've noticed .. but this is the most level field out there .. there are no "easy" games

Didn't even make the playoffs, out, and about to be out; and the latter two aren't all that much different from previous years. Hell, the SB champs may have actually had a better team this year, and they were knocked out. If anything, I would say this year would have been harder than previous years.

This year

This year was good for many things but the most important was ATTITUDE. This team was 1-15 a year ago and sucked.
Winning the Division was icing on a very sweet cake. This team has holes to fill and needs more time to gel. The NFL is not getting "harder". players change teams and momentums always switch. look at the pats, colts ,panthers--all out. ARIZONA in--WHAT!!!!! We will improve and make runs at the title in the coming years. I figure in a year or two we can walk onto any field and be a contender in any game. Miami has learned how to win again and will improve on that. In a few years when we "look back" this will be the season that things changed for the better and started to put the dolphins back where we belong.

Remember, we already know how Buffalo will be doing and the Jets are in total disarray. The pats defense is getting older and brady might be out another year. Of all the teams in our division we are the ones with the most promise. Once in the playoffs it's a whole different ballgame. I don't know how others were raised but where i come from respect is earned and playing Detroit is not how you get it. We need to beat the best, and we will. The Jets tried to buy a championship and it blew up in their faces. QB problems, salary cap issues, no coach. NO THANKS.
