Hopefully the Dolphins can coach him up....

It sure does look stat wise that once he started to get comfortable at QB it sure translated to decent on field performance.

people labled him not nfl worth becasue of his draft posistion and becasue of his final game vs florida. If you watch him in the pre season and last year you will realize he has the makes to be a good qb. his arm is also signifigantly stronger than anyone on the dolphins. again him and ginn were dangerous together.

It certainly looks that way.

The other Chiefs Quarterbacks combined for 77 of 118 passing attempts (65.3 completion %), 704 passing yards (5.97 YPA), 3 TD passes and 4 interceptions (75.67 Passer Rating). Huard, Croyle and Gray combined for 1 sack every 12 dropbacks (120 drobacks/10 sacks). Tyler Thigpen got sacked once every 17.15 dropbacks (446 dropbacks/26 sacks). I know it's not saying much, but Thigpen was the best QB on the Chiefs team in '08.

So far in '09, Matt Cassel and Brodie Croyle have completed 54 of 81 passes for 508 passing yards (6.27 YPA), 5 touchdown passes and 2 interceptions (94.1 Passer Rating). However, they've been sacked once every 11.13 dropbacks (89 dropbacks/8 sacks). That Chiefs OL is terrible.

So it looks like we have a solid backup to Henne. Here's hoping that we don't have to see him this season.

Stay up, Henne.

AJ Feely 2.0....quality backup, not starting material

Thigpen has far more tools to work with than Feeley ever did, and we didn't give up a 2nd round draft pick to aquire him. As far as Thigpen not being starting material, he's only 25 years old with all kinds of ability, to go along with starting experience. It's premature to label Thigpen as "not starting material".

The Chiefs new FO was pretty quick to make that assessment.

The NFL is full of players that have had productive careers despite being let go by an NFL team. James Harrison was signed as an undrafted FA by the Steelers, only to spend 2 years on the practice squad, get signed by the Ravens, cut by the Ravens, sign with the Steelers........and eventually win the DPoY award last year.

Thigpen had a good year on a crappy team. He also has speed in his legs with a strong arm to go with it. If Henne doesn't work out, I'd be more than happy to see how Thigpen will do next season.

We have quite a few holes this year. The last thing I would want to see is Miami drafting a QB, while they need a NT, S's, LB's, WR's.
