This years' Quarterback class is very poor and if Mark Sanchez and Matthew Stafford decided not to declare this could have been the worst class in NFL History. Let's start at the top...

Matthew Stafford has an NFL ready arm which allows him to make all the throws; Stafford possesses good size but I question his mental aspect of the game. Often time I see him stick to a receiver even if he is covered and force the ball into spots he shouldn't. He also carries the label of not winning the big-game for me. With that said there is no question that he is the best Quarterback in this draft. Mark Sanchez is another solid player but he is hard to judge for me because he had a lot of toys to play with while at Southern California. Sanchez does have a nice arm and did carve up a good Penn State defense in the Rose Bowl.

I have Josh Freeman as the 3rd rated Quarterback in this draft class and to me that isn't good. Freeman reminds me of a poor man's Daunte Culpepper. He is a big guy at 6"6 and does have a strong arm but mentally he makes way too many mistakes. The guy who impressed me most during Senior Bowl Week is Rhett Bomar. He was the #1 Nationally Ranked High School Player when he committed to Oklahoma. He got into some off the field issues that led to his dismissal. Rhett has an NFL arm and to me might be the best Pro. I think in Round 4 Bomar is an absolute steal. Nate Davis out of Ball State is an interesting prospect as he lacks ideal size at 6"0 but seems to make all the throws. After the injury of Dante Love, his productiong decreased at Ball State. I could see a team like the Panthers taking a flyer on him in Round 2. Cullen Harper practiced terribly during Senior Bowl week but played okay during the actual game. Coming into the season Harper was one of the top Quarterback's in the nation but he was benched during the season and has been hot and cold since then. Graham Harrell is a guy who's stock just went South. The Senior Bowl game exposed that Harrell doesn't posses the arm-strength to make all the throws. He was missing easy throws all nigh and in my eyes he fell from Round 3 to Round 6. Nathaniel Brown is an interesting small-school prospect who is worth watching. Should this guy go undrafted I think this is a guy to take a flyer on.

Pat White is the enigma of this draft. Whether he is a receiver, a wild-cat specialist, or a Quarterback there is no question the kid can play ball. he chose to stick to Quarterback for Senior Bowl week and landed himself MVP of the game. His speed is just spectacular as is his ability to make people miss. Pat White doesn't have the best arm and was not asked to make a lot of big time throws while at West Virginia. Yet this kid has continued to prove critics wrong including myself. I am not sold on taking him as a Quarterback but i think he will be succesful somehow in the NFL. The day he is drafted he will become a fan favorite.

Players such as Curtis Painter out of Purdue and Hunter Cantwell out of Louisville are good players but far too inconsistent. One week they look like solid 2nd Round Quarterbacks and the next you ask yourself why they even play football?

The darkhorse to me is John Parker Wilson. This kid had a very good senior season at Alabama and looked suprisingly impressive in the Senior Bowl. He has good mobility, a decent arm, and great intangibles. I think someone will get themselves a football player inthe 6th round.

While this draft class for Quarterbacks is weak, next year's promises to be spectacular with the likes of Sam Bradford out of Oklahoma, Colt McCoy out of Texas, Zac Robinson out of Oklahoma State, Tony Pike out of Cincinnati, and even Tim Tebow out of Florida. Luckily for us Quarterback is not a pressing need for the Dolphins. Chad Pennington is a man at Quarterback while Chad Henne is being groomed for the future. Next Up...

Running Backs.. See you tomorrow

tbh I don't have Harrell nearly that high and I think #6-9 are going solely off reputation (except Cantwell who has impressed me a little), my top 10 look like this:
M. Stafford
M. Sanchez
J. Freeman
N. Davis
R. Bomar
S. McGee
D. Willy
H. Cantwell
T. Brandstater
M. Reilly

I like where you have Pizzotti, could be a steal late

Definately a very poor quarterback class. If Miami parts ways with Beck, I could see them taking a guy like Drew Willy, out of Buffalo.

While I do agree 100 fold about how poor this class looks, you really don't know until 5 years later.

John Parker Wilson threw 10 touchdowns and 8 interceptions his senior season...that hardly qualifies as "very good"...

JPW was the beneficiary of a dominant running game...he's rattled very easily...has too many balls batted down at the LOS...he won't sniff a 53 man NFL roster...His mobility surprises people...and he throws a pretty good deep ball...stares down his receivers and stayed locked in to Julio Jones all year...

I think Mike Teel could end up being the best quarterback of the bunch...I think you obviously have him way too low...he belongs in the top 10 over scraps like Cullen Harper, Graham Harrell, Nate Brown, and Mike Reilly...

So does Tom Brandstater..

There are too many players I disgree with to go in depth with as far as your rankings are concerned...but I'll make one comment as far as the top 2 are concerned...

Stafford will likely be drafted ahead of Sanchez...but I think Sanchez becomes the better NFL quarterback...for many reasons...facial profiling not included...

graham harrell was pure garbage in the senior bowl game. i'm not sure that john parker could complete a downfield pass to anyone not named julio jones.

Some media guys were talking on the radio after the Senior Bowl said Pat White was the best QB but then stated that White wouldn't be able to play QB in the NFL. Meaning all the QB's there were awful, they couldn't make simple (expected) NFL throws during practice.

Yea if Stafford and Sanchez did not declare, I mean somebody probably would have taken a shot at Freeman in round 2, and maybe Davis in round 3 . . . but potentially we may have not seen a QB until day 2.

I'd venture to guess you don't watch much college football...Alabama inparticular...

John Parker Wilson is the reason Alabama DIDN'T make it to the National Championship....HE was the weak link...

Alabama had the season they had because of the running game and smothering defense...

I'm consulting with you on JPW as someone who has watched him closely since the day he stepped foot on campus in Tuscaloosa....I've regularly made the 60 mile track to watch JPW in person since he played at Hoover High School....

He's not even the pro prospect Brodie Croyle was...and Brodie Croyle wasn't much of a pro prospect to begin with...

Pat White has the better pro potential than Parker Wilson...and I've watched White play in person in the 6-A state playoffs when he played for Daphne High School...

White also came in 3rd in the voting for Alabama's "Mr. Football" his senior year...but Rodriguez was the only D-1 coach that promised him a shot at playing quarterback...( by the way.....how that work out for you Tubberville?)

i believe I read a scouting report not too long ago that described JPW's upper body as " an under developed young boy whos never seen a weight room in his life". i know that doesnt necessarily have anything to do with ability, but I agree hes garbage.

Sure he was. I was here in Baltimore; he took over for Tony Banks, didn't turn the ball over and won a ring. Plus the Ravens are an NFL team so they can't win National Championships chief. Good try.
