here are some 2009 F.A's that, along with our draft picks, might help us elevate even more so for the 2009 season. they are all atleast worth looking into.

Dawan Landry, SS R.F.A

Ray Lewis, LB, UFA.. we can use him for atleast a year or two to bring veteran leadership and guidance for our younger LB core which is probable pending Draft..

Jabari Greer, CB, UFA, young, good speed, developing into a good CB in the league, and he will be cheap. has 22 tckls and 1 INT so far this season.

Chris Gamble, CB, UFA

TJ Houshmandzadeh. WR, UFA

Mike Adams, FS, UFA.. 28 tckls, 2 INTs so far. lord knows we need help in FS since Jason Allen isnt stepping up

Mike Peterson, LB, UFA

Jarrad Page, FS, UFA

Vernon Carey, OT, UFA.. we need to RE-SIGN him asap

Jonathan Vilma, LB, UFA

Nmandi Asomugha, CB, UFA

Brian Dawkins, FS, UFA, would be a great veteran leader for our DBs.. might be able to help develop J.A finally?

Bryant McFadden, CB, UFA

Cortland Finnegan, CB, RFA

Howard Green, DT, UFA

Devery Henderson, WR, UFA

Marques Colston, WR, RFA

these are guys that just stand out to me..........

I would absolutely love Nnamdi coming here. Colston extended I believe and Vilma isn't very good in a 3-4. That's the main reason the Jets traded him.

I'd love to have Cortland Finnegan, but as he's an RFA he won't be worth the picks it's going to cost. Nnamdi Asomugha, however, can be had without sacrificing any draft picks and we instantly shut down at least one receiver per game.

i believe Vilma can be effective in a 3-4, just needs the right coaching. and who better to coach a LB than former Dallas TE and LB coach and our current Defensive Coordinater, Paul Pasqualoni?

Keep in mind a chunk of those guys will get new deals before free agency opens. I doubt guys like Ray Lewis and Brian Dawkins actually hit the market......

Ravens defense is getting older and beat up with Ray Lewis and Ed Reed and a few other veterans.. i think they might actually be trying to start fresh. regardless, whoever Ray Lewis is with, he's going to be there to help out the younger LBs coming in.

Nmandi Asomugha, CB, UFA
i would absolutly love to have this guy, pair that with another solid draft and we have ourselves a team

Nmandi and Chris Gamble would be great pickups. I doubt we get both because both will get huge deals, but just imagine it. Two very good (and still quite young) CB's paired with a draft pick. Wow!

Chris Gamble or Nmandi with a guy like Vontae Davis on the other side and Yeremiah Bell up the field would bring us back to the Patrick Surtain, Sam Madison, Brock Marion days!

I don't want "veteran leader" types. All we need are two or three players in their prime to add to a hopefully strong draft. Our leaders are emerging now and their cast should feature players in that same age group. We have a unique thing going where we seem to be set at QB for now and the future with Henne or Beck (I think few people realize Beck might be the one who's benefited most from Pennington as they are similar in style but John having the deep arm).

Our money needs to go to 20 something's. Nmandi Asomugha if the money is reasonable needs to be priority No.1. He's a shutdown corner plain and simple. We'd get 5 years out of him and he's never been hurt, to my knowledge anything serious. On top of everything he's as good a person as you can find character wise. Him, and pretty much his entire family, have dedicated their lives to charity and Asomugha especially loves helping needy children. There is nothing to not like about him......unless he demands $38 mill guaranteed. That might be too much. 32 might be our max.

We need to sign atleast one high impact player so if it can't be scrabble II it should be should the original scrabble T.J. Houshmanzadeh. That would then allow to go into the draft focused primarily on defense. And given this years fantastic potential crop of defenders, I can live with our only major defensive additions being a couple first and second round rookies. There's a corner at Ohio State who would look great in Aqua and Orange next year, as well as a MLB at USC.

I love the situation were in. Needing mainly a skill position players will make the offseason and draft more fun.

Just think if we had either one of those two players through the first 5 weeks of this season how much better the rest of our team would be. TJ I think still has 4 years in him as he's been relatively injury free and consistent his entire career.

Bell's not a FS like Marion was, though. We still need a starting caliber FS, preferably somebody like William Moore from Mizzou.

I don't keep up with the Raiders, why is Nmandi Asomugha going to hit the free agent market? You'd think they'd want to keep a really young shut-down corner......

I think they tagged him last year so he's playing on a 1 year contract and I am pretty sure you can't use the tag on the same player twice.

you can do it twice but not 3 times.
