1.Alex Mack-Center Cal
6'4 316 5.1 40
A brute at center and a mauler. Has a killer instinct and will run through people. Gets to second level against 4-3 teams with ease. With this pick we solve our O line. Mack to center means Smiley and Thomas at Guards. If Smiley is injured more than predicted, Satelle slides over. This is presuming Carey is resigned and then our O line is Long-Smiley/Satelle-Mack-Thomas-Carey

2a.Kenny Britt-WR- Rutgers
6'4 215 4.55
BIg, physical receiver who will go up and snag the ball. Not afraid to go across the middle. Not the top end speed, but a gamer who can scoot in open space. Has not missed a game in the past two years, something the front office will enjoy knowing he isnt a trainers best friend.

2b.Ron Brace-NT-Boston College
6'3 324 5.3
A stout player who plays with tenacity. Excellent run defender. May have benifited from B.J Raji, but B.J prob benifited from him also. Great upside and can really turn into a 7-9 year NT for this team.

3.Mike Micken-CB-Cincinnati
6'0 190 4.5
Physical and Athletic. Will come up and help in run support. A ball hawk who has 10 interceptions the past two years. Also had 70 tackles. Good numbers considering he played against top notch offenses West Virginia, Pitt, South Florida. Was a leader for a first place finisher in the Big East.

4.Jasper Brinkley-ILB-South Carolina
6'2 275 4.75
Guy who played in SEC and covered ground well after a knee injury. Bounced back well missing 0 games his senior year and had 65 tackles. had 107 his sophmore year so the injury may have taken more production, but his first year back, not a good idea. Has 2nd round talent but drops here. With a weak ILB class he can be a diamond in the rough.

5.Joel Bell-OT-Furman
6'7 317 5.13
1st Confrence member two years in a row. Big body that plays agressive. Has 2nd round build, just played in a lower confrence and didnt want to transfer. A good project who could eventually replace Carey. If Carey is not here, this whole draft changes, but with them here, this guy gives Depth.

7.Anthony Heygood-OLB-Purdue
6'2 230 4.64
Good player in Big Ten. Ideal size with good production. Had a good junior year but dropped off senior year. Good special teams and may add a special piece to our defense.

7b.Greg Carr-WR-Florida State
6'6 211 4.63
A big stick. Could be Marques Colston value since he has the size. Bad QB play at FSU may have credited him with a steady decline since freshman year. If all else, practice squad getting ready for other big WR's in the NFL.

7c.Graham Gano-P- Florida State
6'1 195
A kicker who can punt and kick field goals. Excellent kicker who may go before this, but if here say good bye to Brandon Fields. Consistenly pins teams inside the 20. In Champs Sports Bowl Had 3 kicks inside the 5, 2 on the one. And it wasnt the coverage units.

Thoughts, comments, suggestions?

not bad
but what i have been seeing latly i not saying it is going to happen but i have been seeing Mack Droping into the second round on other peoples mocks like into the 50's

Mack could easily be the pick, although he needs some technique work. I think Britt may have some attitude issues that frighten a chemistry based team like Miami off. Brace has been getting a lot of love from Miami, but to me he's just a one deal player who can't go sideways and flood the A-Gap. That might be 2 rounds too high for Mickens who's a zone CB and 2 rounds too high for Brinkley who is still regaining his form from the injury. Bell is an interesting guy, a 230lb linebacker isn't getting picked by Miami, Greg Carr is interesting because if he wasn't so damn lazy and such an abysmal route runner he might actually be something and Gano will go much higher. A legitimate 57 yard leg and some of the finest directional punting I've seen from 50 yards and in. That's a rarity.

I should of specified that Heygood can put on weight since he's only playef LB 2 years.

Zack Follett would also be a great guy to look at in the 6th or 7th rounds.

I think he goes earlier than that. Miami spent time with him at the Senior Bowl and interestingly, the Patriots, who spent similar time with him, view him as an ILB in a 3-4.

Maybe 15 and he can make some special teams tackles. I remember both rb we took last year were on practice squad so if he can help out thr so be it.

I don't see the need of taking two WRs and no safety. It's a not a bad mock draft overall, but I personally like mine better. :)

Brinkley is not going to be there in the 4th. Carr has got good size at 6'6", but being a UF fan I've seen a lot of him and I'm not impressed. But a 7th rd. pick is not bad and who knows maybe he'll be a better pro. Otherwise it's a pretty good draft.

Boomer said 4th is to early and u say he won't be there in the 4th... hmmmm this is why I love the draft

If Brinkley's knee checks out and every indication is that it will, Jasper will have a 2nd or possibly a 3rd rd. grade. If he is there in the 4th, by all means you take him.

Mack-good pick, maby a little early
britt-we wont pick a receiver first day
Brace-wont be there
Mikens-5th round prospect who doesnt fit our non zone
Brinkley-good pick

we need some more backers early
