OK, forget this offensive formation and keep the ball within Hennes hands. I agree with the chatter about Henne being put into bad situations and this ridiculous attempt to have Ginn in on important downs. Is the coaching staff trying to bring his confidence down even more?! Ginn is ST nothing more. overhaul the WR corp and beef up the OL. FA pickup on our secondary and release Porter. Porter hasnt done anything rememorable. Just like Wilford he can be replaced by a raw pass rusher in Wake. This team needs to be identified and surround HENNE OUR FUTURE with weapons not RONNIE and PAT with the wildcat. Henne has the mental and physical tools to be great. Take a look at Brady, that organization surronds him with whatever they can to help him prosper ie moss, welker, watson. Matt Ryan...Tony G? Its apparent that these teams with young Quarterbacks are trying to get them as many offensive weapons as they can, why cant Miami follow? If this is a glimpse at the future, im a lil worried. Fire PP, Get a New OC and make some definitive changes. Im tired of this team coming up short.

No way this team puts this much time and effort into bringing this wrinkle of the offense into our main gameplan, only to take it away. I could see it getting slowly phased out to a few calls per game but it isn't going anywhere IMO.

What I COULD see miami doing, if they really expanded this "pistol" or "wildcat" type of gameplan, is eventually going with a qb like pat white to fully run the offense. That is very doubtful though unless Henne completely tanks.

I think the regime is very happy with what Henne is doing so far, so I don't see them giving up on him anytime soon - why would they? He's been performing very well.

I do agree somewhat with you, that they are trying too hard to come up with new wrinkles when even the basic Wildcat run hasn't been very effective for the past few games.

You know the common thing we always hear about how the Wildcat makes opposing team have to lose practice time prepping for it? Yeah, well, all these "wrinkles" must also mean we're losing practice time from our basic formations with Henne as well prepping for these risky plays.

Hopefully with the growth of Henne we see less and less of the Pat White plays and Wildcat.

Once the passing game gets established, you'll see a reduction in the WC. I doubt if it goes away completely after the have invested so much time into installing it. It has been the most effective way the offense has been able to move the football until recently.

I am starting to think that Parcells may actually draft a WR in the first round. It is the most glaring hole on this team. Brandon LaFell from LSU has what Parcells looks for in players, plus he is fast enough to stretch the field, something Dez Bryant can't do. LaFell runs great routes, sinks his hips well and has a powerful burst out of it to create seperation. He also can actually catch the ball, something the WRs are having trouble with. He's physical and a solid blocker.

Once you get the consistent plamaker that can get the ball downfiled, the running game will open up. Without a legitimate deep threat right now teams are loading up in the box and killing the offense.

Fire both coordinators? Are you kidding? Henning IMO has done fairly well with what he's got on offense. On offense he has Ronnie Brown, Ricky Williams, and an offensive line. There isn't a whole lot you can do with that. Running the ball will not work if you don't have any passing game, like Miami. Sure, we have had a couple of questionable calls, but this guy is criticized waaaay too much.

Paqualoni is where it gets interesting. I'm split right down the middle on this guy. I'm not in favor of just firing coordinators at the drop of a hat, but this guy really has cost us some games. I'm not sure if it's the talent, or lack there of, but Miami's defense cannot defend anybody. Our run defense has been top 5, but our safety play is so bad that there really is no need to run on us. If I had to venture a guess, Paul Pasqualoni is not going anywhere, and niether is Dan Henning.

HOWEVER, if one or both does go, which is highly unlikely, I would want Romeo Crennel as our DC and David Lee to be promoted and than Chad Pennington to take Lee's spot. This is pure speculation, but I imagine this is what would happen with the offensive coordinator spot if Dan Henning was to retire or be fired, which like I said, I do not think will happen.

As usual Ted is spot on. The Wildcat is pretty much used to camouflage our weaknesses and find creative ways for our two best playmakers (Ronnie and Ricky) to get the ball down the field. The more offensive talent we acquire to help Henne out, the less you'll see this formation more than likely.

Ted knocks this out of the park. Hello playmakers then "greatly reduced" Wildcat. It should never fully leave though b/c it's good to keep the defense off balance. But right now it features our only two real playmakers Ricky and Ronnie.

Wait hold up... According to FH the last two years this was all Penny's fault. You mean it's not?
