We all know that the void of us having a true #1 receiver is really hurting this team and with our FO's philosophy of not trading draft picks I don't see us trading for one. So I thought I would take a look at who might be available to us this offseason. Here is a link to the list of the possible 2010 WR UFA.

While looking at this list three name really stuck out at me. They are Vincent Jackson, Lee Evans, and Chris Henry.

Vincent Jackson is undoubtably #1 on my wish list for this offseason. He really came on last year and is continuing is accent. He has the prototypical size (6'5") and speed (4.40 40) for a #1 receiver and is only 26 years old. However, what I really love is his aggressiveness when going after the football. You never see him shying away from contact. You can tell that when the ball is in the air he feels it belongs to him and that he will do whatever it will take to get his hands on it. We may have to break the bank to get him, which is something our FO doesn't like to do on WR's, but I feel he is the only true #1 receiver who could be out there next year that would immediatly take our offense to the next level.

Next on the list is Lee Evans. Lee doesn't have the height (5'10")that Jackson has but he definatley has the speed (4.44 40). He did everything well in Buffalo as a WR before T.O. was signed. More importantly He does everthing that Ted Ginn doesn't. He runs excellent routes (not just a track star), has great hands, and isn't afraid of contact. The thing about Evans is nobody really knows how well can he perform if he has a decent offense around him. Sure he had some good years in Buffalo, but was that the norm, I just don't know. I would be more than happy to find out, and on a side note, it's always great to steal talent away from a divisional foe.

Last on my list is Chris Henry. I know alot of you out there will say he is a locker room cancer and that we shouldn't sign him, but I don't know if that is really the case. Hearing Carson Palmer speak about Henry has really changed my opinion on him. I am paraphrasing hear but I remember Palmer speaking about how Henry realized he was wasting his talent and how he truly has changed as an individual. I know Henry doesn't have the stats you look for in a #1, but he also played behind Ochocinco and Whosyourmomma for many years in Cinnci. He has the size (6'4", 200 lbs) and speed (4.55 40) you look for and has great hands. I think this could definitely be the type of low price FA signing our FO would look for in trying to upgrade our WR core.

Please let me know what you think.

Sign Vincent J and get younger on D through the draft...

That's exactly what I was thinking. I think we can draft an ILB in the first round who will come in and contribute right away. After that I think we should address FS or NT. I hope we double our picks for ILB, DT and FS just like we did for DE, G, CB and WR.

Lee Evans isn't a number 1 receiver. Right now, he is Ted Ginn in 3 years with better hands. The knocks on him is that he does shy away from contact and he runs poor routes/gives little effort when he isn't the primary target.

Neg. Draft Dez Brant, who because of his suspension we will be in perfect position to land. Draft Myron Rolle in the 2nd to compliment Chris Clemons and grab a stud ILB in the 3rd (if we can) to compliment Crowder.

We aren't going to sign a WR in free agency most likely. We are going to use our cap space a hell of a lot more wisely than to spend big bucks on a WR when we just drafted a few WR's this year. Our free agent goals will probably be on the secondary, the D-Line and possibly some extra CB depth. Don't expect any big names coming to the Fins, because with the offense we run, we don't need the big name WR to succeed.

However, we also need WR's who won't drop the ball. But there aren't any guys in free agency who are going to be worth the money they are going to ask for.

There's no chance SD lets Vincent Jackson walk, they'll do everything they can to re-sign him and if they can't they slap the franchise tag on him.

There's no way SD let's VJ go, nobody can be that dumb.

C.Henry is one I have also want, he will be free to go because of the talent and money locked up in WR's at Cinci and is a legit #1 here. He hasn't had any issues since coming back to Cinci and I'll chalk the past up as immaturity. I also don't think it would cost alot for him which would allow us to sign another impact FA...Wilfork/Hampton please.

Evans would be a nice addition but if the FO didn't want Coles I don't see Evans coming here.

Arrilious Benn. WR Illinois. Thats all I have to say. If you want me to post highlight video. let me know

I just don't see our FO drafting a WR in the first round. I would predict either Taylor Mays, Sergio Kendle, or Brandon Spikes depending on how the combine and rumors up to the draft play out.

Ill post a vid of our terrible Saftey and ILB play. Thats so i can assure you that no matter how great a number 1 would be, there are bigger needs. Go Golden Tate in the late second. Trade back in to get him. Get Mcclain, A safety and get the number 1 receiver that is Tate.

Or should I post video of all the drops yesterday and the previous games? Tate has nothing on Benn

We were extremely close to drafting Hakeem Nicks last year in the 1st round. Only reason we didn't was because we knew there was a lot of talented WR's that we could grab in the later rounds (most notably Hartline). This year, There are about 2 or 3 very good, and the rest fit more as slot receivers in the NFL. This may be the year the Fins draft a WR. Especially with a young QB you want to get him as many weapons as possibly, and Parcells knows that. We need to draft a big tall, physical WR, not a speed guy who is only good to run down the field and drop the ball before using his speed to run into the end zone...except without the ball.

And for the person above, Golden Tate>>>>>>>Benn.

We NEED a #1 to make teams to respect our pass game. Come to that, we need a receiver with a good combination of speed, size, and HANDS.
