We all know that the void of us having a true #1 receiver is really hurting this team and with our FO's philosophy of not trading draft picks I don't see us trading for one. So I thought I would take a look at who might be available to us this offseason. Here is a link to the list of the possible 2010 WR UFA.

While looking at this list three name really stuck out at me. They are Vincent Jackson, Lee Evans, and Chris Henry.
Vincent Jackson is undoubtably #1 on my wish list for this offseason. He really came on last year and is continuing is accent. He has the prototypical size (6'5") and speed (4.40 40) for a #1 receiver and is only 26 years old. However, what I really love is his aggressiveness when going after the football. You never see him shying away from contact. You can tell that when the ball is in the air he feels it belongs to him and that he will do whatever it will take to get his hands on it. We may have to break the bank to get him, which is something our FO doesn't like to do on WR's, but I feel he is the only true #1 receiver who could be out there next year that would immediatly take our offense to the next level.
Next on the list is Lee Evans. Lee doesn't have the height (5'10")that Jackson has but he definatley has the speed (4.44 40). He did everything well in Buffalo as a WR before T.O. was signed. More importantly He does everthing that Ted Ginn doesn't. He runs excellent routes (not just a track star), has great hands, and isn't afraid of contact. The thing about Evans is nobody really knows how well can he perform if he has a decent offense around him. Sure he had some good years in Buffalo, but was that the norm, I just don't know. I would be more than happy to find out, and on a side note, it's always great to steal talent away from a divisional foe.
Last on my list is Chris Henry. I know alot of you out there will say he is a locker room cancer and that we shouldn't sign him, but I don't know if that is really the case. Hearing Carson Palmer speak about Henry has really changed my opinion on him. I am paraphrasing hear but I remember Palmer speaking about how Henry realized he was wasting his talent and how he truly has changed as an individual. I know Henry doesn't have the stats you look for in a #1, but he also played behind Ochocinco and Whosyourmomma for many years in Cinnci. He has the size (6'4", 200 lbs) and speed (4.55 40) you look for and has great hands. I think this could definitely be the type of low price FA signing our FO would look for in trying to upgrade our WR core.
Please let me know what you think.
