Based on the quarterbacks who were drafted in the 2011 NFL Draft, the fact that former University of Delaware Blue Hens quarterback Pat Devlin went undrafted shows just how convoluted the NFL's process for selecting quarterbacks truly is.

Despite the numerous interviews and the multiple workouts NFL teams put prospective quarterbacks through, most teams have no idea what they should truly look for when trying to predict how a college quarterback will perform in the NFL.

If he is that good he will be given a chance. The NFL doesn't throw away good QBs because of draft status. If he fails it's because he wasn't good enough.

Interesting of course going to Delaware did not help his status. He made a wise choice in choosing the Dolphins if he is as good as you imply because that will increase the odds of him playing. Better look out for CK to bust your bubble though because I am sure he has a scoop for you on why this guy was not highly drafted.

I did a long post last week detailing how all the many stars - some of them uncommon, had to line up for us to get him. Essentially he was thrust on our sometimes clueless FO even though they blew selecting Mallett twice and Devlin himself once or twice .. and that it's karma for the fans sticking through the post- Marino era. I truly believe it's our cosmic fate and that he'll turn out to be the real deal. I just hope these "Einsteins" don't muff it by trying to hide him away on the PS, considering he selected us out of multiple offers.

for every CK, there's a SlimmJr who's reasonably high on him :idk:

Devlin should be kept as the 3rd QB
don't practice squad him or we risk losing him
the guy just needs more development though seems to have the tools..
I Know he didnt show much in the last game
it seemed like he was running for his life
though what he get half a quarter ?
he didn't make any serious mistakes..

If he puts up those numbers against quality teams then he would-be considered as a competitor for a starting job. The two times I have seen him against equal competition he did not look well. Still, I would like to see him in Miami for development because he does have tremendous accuracy, Pennington type accuracy. Who knows. Maybe he is the Dolphins Tom Brady.

I wouldnt give up on him just yet tho.I also thought mark sanchez sucked and then he proved me wrong.

Good QBs seem to be hard to find, I was very glad we signed him.

This seems like the first season we went out with a list of players to sign as UDFAs instead of just taking whoever showed up.

Im not saying Devlin dosent have a chance to be a good player one day, because he might turn out to be a starting NFL QB, but Bleacher Report is straight dog ****.
