2012 is a Success If....

Maybe Victor Cruz was a bad example. But do you think a Tony Sparano led coaching staff would have used Cruz over established players based on preseason? Who knows. The main point, though, is that at some point you've got to give opportunities to young players to step forward. The Dolphins are at that point IMO. It will definitely help the team moving forward to find out what we've got at unsettled positions like wr, og and in the secondary.

Wide receiver, offensive guard, and the secondary are HARDLY new holes for this team. Marlon Moore, Julius Pruit, Roberto Wallace, and Clyde Gates werent held back because of Sparano. They "didnt get a chance" because they didnt earn one. Those 4 players combined have for 14 catches. I seriously doubt that they had an 80 catch season in them.

We've been at the point of young players stepping up for 5 years now. The only player who was arguably held back during the Sparano era was Cam Wake, and that was more due to him not being able to stop the run and a overflow of talent at that position(JT and Joey Porter, who also sobbed whenever he was off the field). Even then Sparano admitted that was a mistake. Say what you will about Sparano, but its not like Jeff Ireland was providing the man with triple A talent and Sparano was ignoring them.

The position is completely open. If these guys want to earn a spot, more power to them. But im not expecting much from 5th rounders and UDFA's. And i wont be surprised next offseason when we have the same hole going into the draft.

Defense hold opponents to 17 pts

Offense averages 6.0 yards per snap.

Simple. If Ryan Tannehill shows that he can become a franchise QB than I will consider the season a success. Without a franchise QB nothing else really matters that much.

If we don't lose our first 7 games it is already a success.

WE have a new Offense and a new defense. I will be happy if we win most of our home games, sweep the jests and split with the rest of the AFC East.

I am SOOOOO tired of hearing people who never watch football games keep going on and on about how the Dolphins have been a losing franchise for so long. The fins won plenty of games when JJ, Wannsteadt and Saban were here. It was Saban's last year that went bad. His first year here we almost made the playoffs if it hadn't been for mcmicheal fumbling games away and Chambers dropping game winning td catches in the endzone.

We won the AFC East just a few years ago. if you don't really watch the games, you REALLY don't have to pretend that you do.
And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle. Maybe you can write to the commish and let him know that it's not the actual wins or losses that matter, it the "shoulda" wins that need to be used to determine playoff teams and SB representatives.
