2012 Schedule

Our schedule was easy last year and we won 6 games and have got worse this year. Losing Marshall was a big deal, whether you want to admit it or not. Not the greatest person, and yes he dropped some TD's.....but he was by far our best receiver and played his best ball towards the end. Also look what he did at the pro bowl. We just needed a QB, now we don't have either.

To say this team is rebuilding is an understatement. We are literally starting from ground zero. Look at the contracts we've offered thus far in FA, outside Marshall (27yr) and Soliai (28yr) who are still somewhat young an in their prime, we've offered only 1yr contracts. B. Marshall was traded for multiple reasons and sadly he had to go (yes I wish we had another reciever with his talent)

All the players who didn't fit our system were let go to FA (Henne/Lankford) and now we are cutting the old high priced fat Y. Bell (34yr).... Also, don't be suprised if we move Karlos Dansby (who will be 31yr this year)for a draft pick or two.

Philbin and Ireland have decided to start from scratch and as long as they draft properly then I'm totally fine with that choice. I'd rather go 2-14, 4-12 with a young raw team with potential to grow then go 6-10 with an over priced old broken down team (Raiders)

I will say one thing though, we better extend Jake Long and sure him up for 5-6yrs and they better do it soon.

indianapolis/ jax/ and rams are the only teams that we are talented enough to beat.

At this given time, I would say that we would stand to lose 5 division games. That's not being a pessimist, it's sadly being a realist. I would think that all the other teams on our schedule are checking off the Dolphin game as a game they should win too. Believe me, the way this off season is going, we strike fear in NOONE.

- says the other teams on that schedule about playing the Dolphins
Yup. It never changes. I'd love to see the list of "gimme" games that were made at this time last year-- and compare them to the actual results. I bet we lost a bunch of supposed locks.

While I'm sure that's true, it might be a good thing. We will be hugely underestimated, and might be able to catch a team or two off guard. Who under prepares for us.

I like the fact we are changing offences to the WC. Other teams will not have a book on us and we may supprise early until they figure it out. Philbin may pull a Tony and have a good first season against a weaker schedule.

I totally get where the OP is coming from though. I see Jacksonville, STL, Arizona, etc as "easy wins". That doesn't mean the Phins will win those games, it's just when you think of those teams, it's not hard to assume your team can beat them.

Well, as you mentioned, the fans of other teams think of the Dolphins that way. And given their record for the last three years, and their performances against "gimme" teams in recent years (Cleveland is often put down as an automatic win, but when did we last beat them-- we've lost the last four in the series dating back almost eight years), there's no good reason why they shouldn't. Meanwhile, nobody thinks of N.E. or Green Bay or Pittsburgh that way. When we're at their level, then we can talk about "gimme" games.

We always seem to lose to the teams we pencil in as wins, and we have the occasional upset over the good teams. Never good enough to be at .500 though.

Easy schedule, but still way to early to say what our win total is gonna be. There's still a lotta time left this offseason. Gotta fill some of those holes.

The only teams on that schedule that I think we're legitimately better than are the Bills, Rams, and Jaguars.

i dont know how u think we r better then the bills to be honest. They r going to be alot better then you think and with the Dline the have they r going to good on D. We cant beat hem consistantly when we really do have a better team but right know i think they have more talent on their team then we do and i dont see that as an easy win at all..... on that sched. i see amybe 3-4 teams we could beat and the bills aint one. i think jags, rams, indy and either sea or ariz (one of the two) and maybe we split the jets but with the team we have now i could see us with a top 5 pick in next years draft.
