I wonder if there are any other teams that have none of their 2013 draft picks starting. We had a high 1st, a high 2nd, two 3rds, two 4ths, two 5ths and a 7th and the only one who is starting caliber at this point is the kicker? And on a sub .500 team none of these guys can crack the starting lineup? Wow.

Sorry, just venting on another mediocre season and with all that up and coming talent we can look forward to..........another mediocre season........followed by......

Happy Thanksgiving.

sturgis is just as bad as the rest of em...

you got two guys in this last class that may become legit players...dion jordan and maybe the taylor kid...after that you got a lot of ehhhh and bums

Why no love for Sturgis? His misses early in the season were due to a groin pull, which has been bothering him off and on since preseason. Would you rather have Dan Carpenter hooking field goals and having kickoffs run back from the 5 yard line, since he often cannot boom it out of the end zone?
:idk:

he's not dependable in the slightest...i have no idea why people are giving him a pass

A draft class takes time to develop. I think it is more worthy to look at the 2012 draft.

1. Ryan Tannehill...productive pick
2. Jon Martin...next
3a. Olivier Vernon...progressing well
3b. Michael Egnew...not a good pick, but he has contributed
4. Lamar Miller...starting RB with potential to do more
5. Josh Kaddu...PS
6a. B.J. Cunninghmam...nothing
6b. Jonte Green...nothing
7a. Kheeston Randall...nothing
7b. Rishard Matthews...has done a nice job when given a chance. Has potential.

Get back to the 2013 draft next year at this time.

Those same players played last year...we didn't have to wait years for them to get on the field....

Maybe, but hopefully the talent level has improved overall that it is hard for a rookie to get on the field. If we were to see a ton of rookies from this year's class playing a lot of snaps that might be an issue in reverse. It would mean all the FA's that were signed over the last two years AND the 2013 picks were not playing to capacity.

Hopefully, the team's talent level is so competitive in the future that rookies cannot crack the line up.

I liked the draft this year, but not all of it.

* I was shocked by the Jordan pick, but think he has the potential to do great things. He should be playing MORE currently. I would have stayed at the original pick and snagged Sheldon Richardson (our opponent this week). From there, I would have traded my #2 for Branden Albert.
* I was on board with the Jamar Taylor pick. I loved the kid to be fair.
* I hated the Dallas Thomas pick and trade UP for Will Davis.
* Dion Sims I thought was a steal. Give him time to learn the NFL.
* Sturgis I would not have selected. I love veteran kickers and would have kept Carp. However, Sturgis DID beat Carp out for the job in the summer to be fair.
* Jenkins and Gillislee are picks that should be given time to see what they can do in an NFL offseason. Jenkins I think can cover for a LB so I am not giving up on him and Gillislee is next man up in the RB rotation so we shall what he has.

we hear the same thing every year...a draft class needs 3 years to evaluate...with few exceptions they dont bite as pups they don't bite...i'm not talking about lack of opportunity i'm talking about they don't show they can play in this league it rarely changes

yes i know michael egnew made a major change but the end result is a fringe roster tight end with a 3rd round pick career pretty much...that's not getting bang for your draft buck

I agree that you might be able to tell that someone is not cut out for the league...paging Jon Martin...however, I like to see signs from a player like we did with O.V. He made some plays on special teams last year and I think that was an indicator of better things to come. Dion Jordan has made a lot happen with very few snaps. I do not think Dion Sims has looked lost when given a shot. I think this draft will go down has being solid when it is over.

dion sims has no real pass receiving upside though...so you got a primary in line tight end who can use his body to box out guys and show his numbers to the qb pretty much...against nfl starters he's gonna do most his damage as a pass receiver cause the defense forgets about him

I have HOPE for Sims in the red area in the future.

Just goes to show how BAD ireland is at drafting...name 3 "impact" players on this team drafted by ireland...NONE!!! Odrick isnt an impact player, hes a solid rotational player, same for Pouncey. The only "impact" players that this team has had in recent histroy were Marshall, Bush and Wake...Wake was picked up when Parcells was here so who knows who scouted him. we have wasted 5 drafts and have gotten nothing in return...hence why we are a middle of the pack team EVERY SINGLE YEAR....

How hard should it be right now for Dallas Thomas to get in at guard? Is Jerry and Garner too much competition? In that case, he shouldn't have been drafted.

Taylor should be able to get out there considering Patterson is out every other week. Is it that hard to get past Carroll?

Jordan...why can't he get more snaps? You telling me Vernon and our LB's are that great?
