This is a great matchup for the US. Still underdogs yet with a fair chance. Belgium did not qualify for the last two tournaments but ran away in their qualification group for this world cup. A very young team it was considered to be the sleeper team and the cinderella team in this world cup. But Belgium struggled mightily during its group play.
I don't have to say much about the US. It is the first time that I feel comfortable with the team to go deep into the tournament. In previous WCs I always had the feeling that the US players and coaches overrated themselves and it turned into a somewhat lackluster performances in most games. This team is different though. What they lack in quality they make up in intensity and the will to fight in the trenches. They reflect the enthusiasm of their coaching staff and it shows on the field.
