CB Kevin Johnson, Wake Forest 6-0 175lbs.

STRENGTHS: Lean, athletic build and is a legitimate NFL athlete with natural cover skills. Very light on his feet, showing great quickness and fluidity to turn and run with receivers when in man coverage, as well as excellent downhill burst back to the ball for zone.
He keeps his head on a swivel and doesn't panic when the ball is in the air, showing good timing on his leaps and the hand-eye coordination to pick off the pass. Johnson is aggressive and will bait quarterbacks, showing a terrific burst back to the ball.
He isn't an intimidating hitter but gets the job done, generally wrapping the legs of ballcarriers securely. Has played inside in nickel as well as outside.
Johnson toughness belies his light frame. He started 41 game at Wake Forest, never missing a game due to injury during his collegiate career.
WEAKNESSES: In coverage, Johnson does show occasional over-aggression, getting burned on double-moves by speedy receivers. Good height and competes in jump-ball situations, but he may struggle in this regard against the behemoths playing receiver in today's NFL.
Where his lack of size shows up most is in run support. Needs to show more awareness and aggression in fighting through blocks, as well as the toughness to deliver forceful hits on the ball-carrier.
COMPARES TO: Tracy Porter, Washington Redskins: Like Porter, Johnson's value lies with his coverage skills. Both are effective enough open-field tacklers to get the job done but neither will wow you with their physicality in defeating blocks or tackling ballcarriers.

FS Derron Smith, Fresno St. 5-11 197lbs.

STRENGTHS: Good awareness of receivers around him and keeps his eyes on the quarterback. Good quickness to break downhill on the ball. Terrific ball skills. Good hand-eye coordination to pluck the ball and has good body control to contort in the air to adjust. Explosive leaper who is surprisingly effective in jump-ball situations due to his athleticism and timing. Good vision and agility to pick up yardage after the interception or as a returner. Averaged 12.9 yards on seven punt returns as a senior and also has some experience returning kicks.
WEAKNESSES: Smaller than preferred and too often plays to his size. Struggles to disengage from blocks and though he can deliver a pop when he lowers his shoulder, Smith shows just average strength for the pull-down tackle. Can get fooled by savvy quarterbacks who can move him with their eyes and create larger passing windows. Takes questionable angles to the football.

QB Blake Sims, Alabama 6-0 223lbs.

STRENGTHS: Displays impressive poise at the most critical moments of big games. Shows touch on deep passes down the middle, along with the arm strength to fire passes to the perimeter.
Does not look to run and keeps his eyes downfield, but does a terrific job moving the pocket and extending plays with his legs, stressing defenders in coverage. Can elude would-be tacklers with great lateral agility and acceleration.
WEAKNESSES: Limited as a pro quarterback prospect due to his height. Executed in a run-heavy offense at Alabama and is following in a long line of Crimson Tide quarterbacks who have enjoyed limited NFL success. Questionable decision-making with the ball at times.
IN OUR VIEW: With only a dozen starts under his belt, he is still unrefined in several areas, leading defenders to his intended targets and struggling to consistently work through his reads when the initial progression isn't there. But Sims has the arm strength, athleticism and resilient attitude that keep me from giving up on his NFL future. When focusing on the positives to his game, the Alabama passer has intriguing tools that could make him a late rounder come April.

WR Devin Funchess, Michigan 6-5 230lbs.

STRENGTHS: Tall, athletic frame with smooth muscle tone throughout. Long arms and big hands to create a large catching radius. Snatches the ball away from his body and attacks with his hands.
Flexible freak with easy movement skills for his size and loose body control to make natural adjustments on the ball, turning downfield quickly after the grab. Long, full strides to reach his top speed quickly.
Very good leaping ability to float and attack jump balls. Not easy to bring down as a ballcarrier with his size to bounce off tacklers. Nice job finding soft spots over the middle.
Has experience at tight end and receiver, lining up inline, slot and outside. Matchup nightmare against linebackers and smaller cornerbacks with a size differential that isn't close in most cases. Good toughness to play through injuries.
WEAKNESSES: Very lean-muscled and lacks ideal bulk or sand. Room to get stronger to better beat press and match up with physical man defenders.
Too many drops off his hands on his resume and needs to be more reliable with his focus through the catch. Hand technique needs work, often caught with his hands turned the wrong way downfield.
Not a reliable finisher in contested situations. Tends to think too much about post-catch and will take his eyes off the ball before securing. Shows laziness in his routes and needs to sell patterns with more consistency. Inconsistent vision after the catch, struggling to leverage the field or read his blocks.
Doesn't consistently play up to his size as a ballcarrier and will brace himself for contact, not powering over smaller bodies. Effort is there as a blocker, but often caught off balance with erratic technique. Suffered ankle injury in Sept. 2014 and was hampered the rest of the season.
COMPARES TO: Kelvin Benjamin, Carolina Panthers - Like Benjamin, Funchess has the size and athleticism to create mismatches, especially in the red zone and on third downs, but inconsistencies could keep both from reaching their top potential.

Another guy I say definitely NO to draft right here....

Devin Funchess- Michigan: His size and frame is awesome, his routes are poor, he doesnt even use that frame well in routes, his hands are awful, not sure how explosive he is though he is athletic.
Definitely not in the 1st, but if for some reason he was to fall to the 3rd(which is highly unlikely to happen) I would take a chance on him.

really? even with possabilities of WRs like Dorsett, Hardy, Smith, Lockett available that round..... plus bucket load of talented RBs???

It always depends what is available. Of course if one if the aforementioned players were available, one would probably take them before Funchess. I am saying that I would not entertain the possibility before the 3rd.

gotcha.... i agree it matters who would be there.

personally, now this is me, I'm taking one of the bucket loads RB or an OG (if we havent yet) over Funchess if he is the guy at WR there in the third round. I would draft myself for QB (back-up to Tannehill obviously) before I would draft Funchess..... but once again that is just me

RB Jay Ajayi, Boise St. 6-0 216lbs.

STRENGTHS: Workable body type with adequate upper- and lower-body bulk. Quick-footed and nimble to control his acceleration with burst and wheels to finish runs. Explosive cuts with springs in his legs to launch off his plant foot and get upfield with forward momentum. Athletic lateral jump cuts to escape trouble. Limber and flexible body type with rubber joints to be slippery at the tackle point.
Runs low and close to the ground with balance and proper pad level to work off contact. Refuses to go down easy and uses every ounce of power to push forward. Improved vision to cut-and-go with quick eyes to read blocks and trust the play design. Good patience to allow the action to develop and doesn't run hesitant.
Athletic pass catcher to make errant throws look like routine catches with soft hands, collecting himself well after the grab to turn downfield. Experienced lining up out wide and running routes. Tough, hungry and competitive, attacking the teeth of defenses and popping up after big hits.
Understands situations and knows where the sticks are. High-effort player and carries himself with a chip on his shoulder, playing motivated to prove people wrong and preparing the same way.
Highly productive career, including a record-breaking junior season in 2014, becoming the first player in FBS history to rush for 1,800-plus yards and collect 500-plus receiving yards.
WEAKNESSES: Has added bulk to his frame and runs hard, but lacks ideal power to consistently run through arm tackles as an inside runner. Needs to break more tackles and not allow ankle biters to bring him down. Relies too much on bouncing runs outside and will get himself in trouble trying to string runs out. Plays too fast at times and needs to better avoid bodies in tight spaces. Good, but not great, speed and can be caught from behind. Prefers to run away from contact at times and will lose yardage. Needs to improve his ball security with 12 career fumbles (seven lost). Appears to wear down late in games, taking a lot of hits in Boise State's offense with a heavy volume of touches the past two seasons. Needs work in pass protection with his technique and strength to sustain both lacking. Some past character issues that need vetted, including an Oct. 2011 arrest for stealing sweatpants from a Wal-Mart near campus (plead guilty to misdemeanor, served five days in jail and eight hours of classes) -- banned from 2011 bowl game, suspended for the 2012 season opener and was forced to work his way back into the good graces of the coaches. Shredded his right knee in Oct. 2011 and has dealt with other minor injuries. Soccer was his first love and he considered going that direction after high school to play overseas.
COMPARES TO: Bishop Sankey, Tennessee Titans -- Like the first running back drafted in the 2014 class, Ajayi has a balanced skill-set as a ballcarrier and receiver with the ability to make defenders miss and create his own yardage.

TE Nick Boyle, Delaware 6-6 270lbs.

Small-school players among Day 3 standouts at Senior Bowl
Nick Boyle, TE, Delaware
Miami's Clive Walford has been the most impressive of the tight ends on either team, but Boyle, an under-the-radar pass-catcher, made some noise on Thursday to cap off a solid showing against top competition. He's the biggest player at the position and that shows during blocking drills, but he was able to turn in a terrific effort in the passing game on Thursday. "He may have made the most money out of anybody," said NFL media analyst Daniel Jeremiah, who noted how quickly Boyle has gone from unknown to possible Day 2 (Rounds 2-3) draft pick
www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap300000046...-players-among-day-3-standouts-at-senior-bowl

Strengths
Big body with long arms and big hands. Has size and athleticism to be an every-down tight end. Flashes ability to run feet and sustain blocks in space and has quickness off snap to make back-side zone blocks. Smooth, natural hands-catcher. Plucks and stashes. Turns and searches for throw immediately out of break. Plus focus in a crowd. Will dive and extend to make the tough catch. After catch, drops shoulder and delivers a blow to defensive backs. Will hurdle low tackle attempts in open space. Good feel for open space and works back to scrambling quarterback. Showed ability to work the seam and make plays downfield in 2013.
Weaknesses
Doesn't play to his frame in run game. Allows defenders to swat away hands and disengage too quickly. Sloppy footwork as blocker. Positional blocker -- doesn't consistently wall off against lesser competition. Tape shows questionable desire and competitiveness when asked to run block. Averaged 3.1 yards fewer per catch in 2014 than 2013. Looked quicker, more athletic and more energetic in 2013. Gets caught leaning into his break, giving route away. Dull out of breaks.
NFL Comparison
Kellen Davis
Bottom Line
Big tight end with the size and physical traits of a blocking tight end but lacking the proper disposition to specialize in it. The 2013 tape shows a starting-caliber receiving threat. If he can get quicker and put the work in as a blocker, Boyle can be a starting NFL tight end.

C David Andrews, Georgia 6-2 294lbs.

Strengths
Athletic center. Was asked to pull at Georgia. Good upper-body strength and has preferred "snap, step, leverage" at point of attack. Second level demon. Can stalk and mirror second-level targets before impact. Rarely lunges or plays with poor body control. Very good change of direction to corral moving targets and take them out of the play. Did not allow a sack over last two seasons. Understands who he helps and who his help is in pass protection. Tenacious and has big, strong hands to sustain blocks.
Weaknesses
Lacks NFL frame. No mass through lower body with thin calves and ankles. Average hip flexion and doesn't always bring hips under him. Lacks the mass and power to displace nose tackles in odd fronts. Could struggle to keep weight on. Offers no position diversity. Hands will drift a little wide at times in protection. Can be bull-rushed when isolated.
NFL Comparison
David Molk
Bottom Line
Andrews is a three-year starter and a quality football player. He's a consistent performer who will have to find a fit with a zone scheme rushing attack because of his lack of NFL mass and power. Andrews has enough skill to play in the league, but his small frame will be a non-starter for some teams.

OG John Miller, Louisville 6-3 315lbs.

John Miller #70

OG John Miller...A 34-game starter in his Louisville career, Miller earned second-team All-AAC honors starting all thirteen games at left guard last year as the Cardinals offense put up 35.2 points, and 460.8 yards per contest. While he may lack elite athleticism, Miller demonstrates intelligence, sound technique and toughness in the trenches with enough quickness in a short area to be a reliable pass-protector when asked to slide and mirror interior rushers, and his initial burst off the snap enables him to get to the 2nd level and target efficiently. From a technical standpoint, Miller exhibits good bend in his lower half and is rarely overwhelmed as he keeps his feet moving, resets without wasted motion, and establishes good extension to keep defenders out of his frame. Another mid-round type of prospect who's durability and consistency could make him a terrific pro.

OT Ereck Flowers, Miami 6-5 324lbs.

STRENGTHS: The 6-foot-5, 324 pound Flowers leaves Miami as a three year starter with experience at both tackle positions. He is light on his feet and balanced in pass protection. He is aggressive and active as a run blocker, including looking for defenders in pursuit. He underwent surgery in late October to repair a torn meniscus but played well upon his return, including in the ACC showdown with Florida State and in Miami's Independence Bowl loss to South Carolina. Broad shoulders and a wide base to cover a large area in pass protection and drive defenders off the ball in the run game.
WEAKNESSES: Can struggle against the speed of undersized pass rushers, allowing defensive ends to cross him inside and trip up running backs in pursuit. Tendency to be a beat late off the snap in load road environments.
