7. Miami Dolphins
2015 record: 5-9 (.449)
Top need: Cornerback
Other needs: Guard, offensive tackle, inside linebacker
Senior prospects at positional needs: Guard: Landon Turner (North Carolina), Joshua Garnett (Stanford); CB: Maurice Canady (Virginia), Danzel McDaniel (Kansas State), Will Redmond (Mississippi State); OT: Vadal Alexander (LSU), Taylor Decker (Ohio State), Spencer Drango (Baylor); ILB: Reggie Ragland (Alabama), Cassanova McKinzy (Auburn), Kentrell Brothers (Missouri), James Burgess (Louisville).
Analysis: Adding talent to the cornerback position should be one of Miami's top priorities, as Brent Grimes turns 33 this summer and the rest of the roster isn't where it needs to be at that position. The Dolphins have talent on their roster, but something isn't clicking with them. Offensively, the Dolphins are going to have to find better players at both tackle and guard. The offensive tackle position needs more competition and the guard spot needs more talent.

Corner is a big priority. Nobody on that secondary can cover at this point. LB is another...none can cover a TE nor tackle very goid. Guard....we have the worst pair of guards in the NFL....OT? Alberts gets hurt every year and we have no depth

I think we need to find a play maker at corner as Grimes was having a tough time this year. I think this is the position we need to fill first, then guard, linebacker, and tackle. If you don't draft a play maker we will get lit up all year.

I agree. Grimes iz just not a number 1 anymore. If we hire the right HC grimes and his big mouth sidekick are gone. At best grimez would have to take a hugh pay cut and play inside. He got burned outside all year. I believe Lippet can develop but we need more.

Nice post brother. I just think at 33 Grimes will need to be re-positioned and take a pay cut. I know they want to see what Lippett can do, but as you said he needs help.

I think.it's easier to get a good corner in free agency the a great lber. I say get the mlb if one is there worthy of the pick.

I think Bobby McCain will develop into a starting CB, it's still a need however LBs is a bigger need IMHO.

I understand what you are saying about LB's I just don't want to see Taylor starting at CB for us next year.:azmang:

I would say lb before corner. Just because the more disruption we can get up front the more it aleviates the job of the cb.

Man, so many holes to fill it hurts... smh

Whoever our next coach/GM are need to make sure we get quality value for our picks and get the best talent available at our pick, not just the best of what we need most. This garbage of picking need regardless of the talent level available at that pick needs to stop, as it's been keeping us mediocre for years!

i think mlb makes the bigger impact. need a leader in the middle. cb in the second. jmo

Corner is a much bigger need than linebacker. I've been singing that tune for a couple years now and the situation has only gotten worse. Grimes regressed. Taylor has not improved, we traded Davis. Aikens hasn't done anything. Brice McCain is bad. Our secondary is a joke. People are open all over the place. The run d just gets beat more because we're usually losing so teams run on us a lot late. The Dolphins have the most rushing attempts against this year. When you look at average yards per attempt, the run d is actually in the middle of the pack. The pass d, on the other hand, still bottom 5 in yards per attempt.

I would have to agree that a big corner is our greatest need......but honestly, LB is not very far behind. Our secondary is terrible overall, but our LB's are likely the worst in the league. My emphasis in this draft is both of these spots and still hope to score some depth in free agency.

I agree, but this approach is not without its own problems. If we pick good players at positions we don't need our team will still suck and lose, and those players will bolt when they hit FA. Then what?

Gotta have balance.
