Film doesn't lie. Kiko Alonso on an every down basis thru the eye in the sky. Descriptions will be short and to the point. Snaps that do not feature him will not be included. Feel free to ask any questions about further detail of assignments, etc.

Week 1

The Good:

1st play of the game: Double OLB run blitz




Coverage on Gates as the point over trips bunch.




Jab step move to avoid blocker, contains backside cutback.

The Ugly:


Loafing is Treason: "All 11 players are involved in each defensive scheme, and each is expected to contribute until the ball-carrier is brought to heel. “If you’re not running to the ball,” he said, “you’re a traitor. Might as well play for the other team.” - Don Brown, Michigan DC.




Badly misplays run with inside-out pursuit as force defender and leaves the edge open for large gain.




Poor coverage awareness and allows short split receiver open and uncontested in middle seam for large gain.

Solid analysis Sons. I don't t agree with everything you say but when it comes to football, you seem to know your ****, so even if I don't agree I respect your opinion. I still don't know how I feel about Alonso. He can make plays here and there (as shown), but he's so tiny and just gets sucked into the offensive and defensive lineman too much for my liking. I was hoping to see Chef this year but injuries happen. Hopefully, Alonso can play somewhat decent to hold us over until next year. I'm sure you will have your support and hate in this thread. That being said

We'll yea, it's probably why two different teams got rid of him before his 4th year.
 
Another forum I post on actually has a section with threads on every starting player used for specific discussion on their performanxes (and nothing else) throughout the season - I am big fan of that. Obviously some threads get much more traffic than others. Though I guess NFL rosters just have too many players to make that work, pity.

I would be curious to see how the coaches graded him on this game. Do you know if that info is available to the fans? I doubt it. Thx
 
I would say "nice" post but we have been suffering through these anti Kiko posts for over a year now.

That popped run by Oliver is on Harris not setting the edge.

Kiko is a liability in Pass Coverage, not news.

If you think he is that bad, wait until you see the rest of the dread we are about to trot out there for the rest of the season.

Mauluga, Hull, March, Anthony.

Will you slam the table and break down how awful the rest of the guys are or will we continue to be subjected to only Kiko hate?
