Woof. :shame:

- Our rushing offense is awful. In fact, it's beyond awful. It's inept.

- Our passing offense was pretty bad today, too. Can't run the ball and can't get open. No bueno.

- Our 3rd and long defense is absolutely, utterly, and bizarrely terrible. I couldn't explain this even if I tried. All I can tell you is that when opposing teams see 3rd and 7+ vs the Dolphins defense, they have Miami right where they want 'em.

- If the Dolphins can not figure out how to get off the field on third down, and if the offense can not find a rushing attack, the 3-0 start will be a distant memory as Miami fades into another year of .500 football.

- The coaching staff deserves the lion's share of the blame today. Matt Burke needs to be sat down and have someone show him, Ludovico style, what his defense looks like on 3rd and long. Adam Gase, I don't know where to start. The offense was just bad. ATTACK THE MIDDLE OF THE FIELD.

- I'm glad the NFL doesn't have a mercy rule. It is fitting that the Dolphins were forced to play out the second half of this **** show.

I switched to Red Zone at half time. I think the game is technically still being played. Kdawg has informed me that Brock Osweiler is making some absolutely pristine handoffs, so there's that.

Still NE’s division. Miami loses next week and NE wins so say peace out to being in first. It was nice while it lasted.

Yee-****ing-haw.

Lol first thing I thought was wtf the game is still going

i think gase needs give up playcalling, it wont happen but he really should...ive had enough of the screens and passes into the flats...i have the same gripe with gases playcalling as i did with bill lazors...

the best way to put it is it feels like theres no flow to the playcalls, its like he has a list of plays and just runs them in the order they are on his list and not on whats going on in the game...like if we cant block and need to get the ball out quick why are we running flats and not slants, were throwing the ball behind the line of scrimmage instead of getting 7 yard chunks. Or outs to the sideline, Tanny used to be money on these to Hartline.

He starts games way too conservatively and slow. We havent been able to get the running game going 2 weeks in a row now and thats contributing. BUT if youre gonna abandon the run then just ****in abandon it and sling the ball around. Enough of the short ****. It doesnt work.

i hope this shellacking today is a wakeup call, hopefully this loss changes this team for the better moving forward...we have alot of work to do and i think first and foremost Gase needs to look at himself and change his ways.

Slow starts have been a killer for how many years now, its obvious to me that we have to come out and go full throttle from the get go, this conservative dink n dunk crap needs to be eliminated.

Favorite thread during the season Wanny, keep it up.
My thoughts
  • New England made it a priority to shut down short yardage lollipops and it worked. I'll leave it at that.
  • Absolutely no running game to speak of and that's on Gase.
  • 0 points by the first team offense against a defense that gave up 20 or more points the first 3 games of the year.
  • 11-20 for 100 yards and 1 int isn't going to cut it.
  • Defense was on the field way too long.
  • New England appears to have a bogus illegal contact/holding playcall in their 3rd and long playcall chart.
  • Gase looked like he was coaching the 4th game of his career today.
  • It looks like this team has a long way to go, but 3-1 with everything in front of them.

- offensive line was the worst part of this game, you could push them over with a feather

- receivers could not beat man coverage against much maligned patriots dbs.. very disappointing

- tannehill is not good enough to throw receivers open, he is more of a point and shoot thrower. he lacks any nuance in his throwing style. every team will play more man coverage against them and he will struggle. example the give up throws down the sideline.

- i’ve never seen a team with more 3rd and longs on offense than the dolphins. ever. but the sad thing is despite lots of practice they still have no answers. not even a try to throw downfield and get a flag or throw up a 50/50 ball.

- perfect game plan by the pats. run the ball down our throats and we will give up. our d is good pash rushing with a lead. line up and play mano e mano means a long day for the fins.

- regression to the mean game. never were good enough as an organization to win a game like this. it would be a tide turning game. not even close to ready for that. we hope for the best. good organizations plan to win.

- only real bad thing was that i didn’t wager more, this was a very very obvious pats blowout.

How's this for a snap reaction from the radio broadcast:

Joe Rose: "Well another undefeated team bites the dust."

Griese: "Guess, we don't have to worry about the Dolphins this year."
Good Lord they are horrible.

Gase won't change. This is his style of offense, and that's that. It was the same with Philbin and Lazor; throw short no matter how many yards you need for the 1st down, and refuse to build and establish a strong running game (with the accompanying o-line that can run-block). I hope this game was a wake-up call to Ross, telling him that he screwed up and hired another Philbin!

I figured a loss, but I hoped that we'd at least make an effort. Lots of disappointments but Im not sure I've ever seen a D that gives up more 3rd and longs in my life
