the 1-6 start killed us. we are 5-2 in our last 7 games. For example: Brady was horrific against Miami and NE got beat down 21-0. Nobody even mentioned that the "Pats were horrible" or "Brady is miserable" etc etc...WHY? Because it was only there 4th loss. Every team plays bad games (ie: we beat chi 31-13), and EVERY QB plays bad games. To say the Buffalo game killed us is ludicrious...Joey played awful, but I would bet if Joey started from day 1 and in the preseason we would have 5 loses at most right now. A 1-6 start can not be overcome, bottomline. We played horrible against the Bills, but that game is not a big deal at all...the Green Bay, Houston, Jets, First Bills game...those are the ones that killed us. We did not find ways to win.

by the way, i was at the game last week in an indoor suite...free food drinks etc...i would trade that all and have gladly sat in the cold, wet, nosebleed seats for a Fins win...

You make a good point but you're kidding yourself if you think Joey will start for us next year, just not going to happen. I like Joey and was hoping he would do well, but honestly even in the wins Joey was barely a game manager for us, not a game winner. He has played mediocre even in the wins, those wins came from our D, not our O.

Agreed. Like I've said in a bunch of other threads...Joey is exactly what we had the past 4 or 5 years. Fiedler/Frerotte/Lucas/Feeley. I also like Joey but he's just not a starting caliber QB on a team without excellent offensive talent. And even then I dont know that he's all that good. He's average, thats it.

Here's the problem w/that, Juice. I agree that every one has bad games. Even INO the Greatest pure passer (#13) had his off days. Bad days seem to be the norm for Joey and good games the exception. U can't say that about Brady or Manning. With them, its the other way.

You are right that we dug a big hole after 1-6. Self made purgatories are the worst kinds of hell.

Don't kid yourself. A loss, any loss hurts. U can't wait to get that foul taste of defeat out of your system.

I would agree with you.

This team had to play perfect football after the bye week in order to make the playoffs, and that's just asking to much, especially considering the fact that most of our opponents in the 2nd half of the season were winning teams.

We put ourselves in a position to fail based on our poor start.

That has to change!

Mustang, it finished us off, but we were toast anyways......I agree with everything said as well. I think Joey has talent (strong arm, good vision, quick release etc) but he just makes the dumb play a lot. I think givin a real opportunity with solid talent Joey would do alright. Might not be with us, but I will always root for him.
MiaMarino, love that sig bro. That highlight video is the best video ever made.

Joeys been our starting QB all of 10 games, he comes from a team that didn't win much. It's takes a while to work your way out of the fear of making mistakes. He plays scared at times affraid to throw the ball. A lot of his passes aren't confident passes, not because he doesn't think hake the throw, but because he's affraid something bad will happen. It takes time to work through what he had grown accustom to in Detroit. Considering what he's been asked to do and the results so far this year, he's had a good "not great" season. Remember this was Daunte's team all through camp, not Joey's. He had to learn in game, the little nuances of the players around him. All I'm saying is he wasn't brought here to be the man, just to help when called upon, he's doing that. His numbers sure would have looked better if the Dolphin WR had caught the ball as eaisly as the Bill defenders, I mean the same guy that threw the Int's is the same guy that threw all the dropped passes. Why didn't the Bill defenders drop the the Int's??? My guess would be because they wanted it more then the Dolphin WR's, so who's to blame for the dropped passes?? Joey?? The Bills D??? Nope, it's the WR's,TE's, and RB's in all the dropped passes Sunday, there was no pressure from the Bills D, the WRs' just dropped the ball. To further prove this point, the NFL sack leader Aaron Schoble had just one sack, infact their whole team had just one sack, the Bills D did little to pressure Joey or the WR's, TE's and RB's, they just simply dropped the passes.

Joey is still not showing the consistency to start in the NFL, this team was physically winning the game in Buffalo in the beginning, we ran the ball very well in the first few series, what we couldn't do was throw the ball and therefore we got zero points out of those drives.

the sad thing is games were going our way, KC lost and Jax and Cincy all lost! We had to take care of our business!

My sentiments exactly! I've posted that several time in various other threads. I agree wholeheartedly.
