21 years and 3 expansion teams who have each played in atleast 1 league title game/series and the dolphins still searching for a return to glory.

The Marlins 2 world series apperances and victories, the Panthers 1 stanley cup apperance and now the Heat make their first NBA Finals each team coming into exsistance after 1984 a year in which the dolphins would win their confrence title and appear in its 5th Super Bowl in 15 years.

21 years later and miami is still looking to make a SB return we all have high hopes that Nick Saban can make it happen but does anyone have kinda the same feeling as me that maybe its not in the cards, I am not saying the phins wont "ever" make the post season but the SB? I dont know?

I live and die dolphins football but watching all these teams NFL and local pro sports teams have such sucsses makes me wonder.

In Saban I trust!! We will be there sometime in the next 4-5 years IMO.

yea hopefully this year for us can be a lot like this year for the heat, i saw saban at the game so hopefully he can return the favor, congrats to the heat

:rolleyes2

Geez, negativity central.

What exactly "makes you wonder" and makes you think "it's not in the cards?"
Who does know if their team will ever make the Super Bowl?
I could see you saying this during the Wanny years but everything has been going in a positive direction with the coaching change.

Seems to me to just be a whiny and pointless post.

Not trying to be whiny simply pointing out how fate or destiny is Im not trying to make a big deal out of this but dude come on the freakin marlins win 2 worls series in what their first 11 years and the second comes after a fire sale that had all the fans in an uproar.

I could point to the NFL where teams like green bay...tampa bay...NE I mean when I was young in the 80s those teams where the laughing stock of the league.

As for the phins we saw one of the best qbs ever fail to help win a SB then we all celebrated the coming of Jimmy Johnson (be honest we all thought he would do exactly what he did in dallas for miami) I guess I no longer have blind faith, that could also come from being an atlanta braves fan as well.

Not trying to bring anyone down..just pointing out that each of the local sports teams have had major sucsess in the time frame I mentioned, and some of those teams like miami went through ownership changes and the owners werent always as committed to winning as the dolphins.

What are you suggesting some kinda curse ? "Maybe it's not in the cards" is the same thing as saying "maybe it's impossible"... only with sugar sprinkled on top.

Hey I am a Braves fan too so I can emphathize with the analogy. Their the only local team here in GA that I care to follow (Ga Tech, UGA, Hawks, FALCLOWNS YUCK TO THEM ALL!)

Yeah, we all thought JJ would bring us to the promise land. For a myriad of reasons well documented on this forum and others it just didn't happen. And, it is one of the most cruelest fates in sports that the best qb who ever played in the NFL never won a SB.

But, our time will come. I think it will happen with this regime. A SB run is more likely next year or '08 than this year. I hate to say it since it has been since January '74 when we last won a SB but, just have a little patience.

Believe in good karma and that there is ultimate justice. The Red Sox had to wait 87 years and the Chi Sox 88 years in between championships (God forbid we wait that long!!!) The good lord above rewards patience, loyalty, and perseverence.

i have confidence that saban is the one to lead us back to the super bowl...

Not to quibble, but it was 5 Superbowls in 14 years, Yes, Saban will return this team to glory, I have no doubt about it.
