Hi all, I thought in light of ESPN having this wind-bag giving his so-called expert advice throught the draft tomorrow, we should copy what TBS does on Christmas with a 24 hours of a Christmas Story and have 24 hours of Mel Kiper Ripping...Here's how it works, just either find look-a-likes, discuss past draft must-haves that he struck out on, discuss how he owns stock in Grecian hair-formula for men and uses 3 bottles a day...Let the fun begin...

Mel Kiper Look-a-likes...

Count Chochula and Joey Buttafuco...

2005 Draft - USC receive Mike Williams is best player in 2005 draft. Other experts and analysts said no, but Kiper responded "See you at his Hall of Fame induction..."
RESULT - flopped in Detroit, traded to the RAAAAAIDAAAHS, then signed with the Titans in November of 2007 and was released by the Titans in 2008 when he showed up to camp at 240 lbs...
Career stats: 2005 thru 2007
30 Games, 44 receptions, 539 yds, 12.2 Yds/Rec., 2 TD's and a long of 49 yds.
When is he eligible Mr. Kiper???? :chuckle:

Joke

Mel Kiper is a joke. Whats even more of a joke is how coaching staffs and front offices around the league take his opinion as scripture.

He gets maybe 20% of his predictions right if he is lucky. Teams should simply draft football players and stop putting so much stock into how fast a guy runs a 40 at a workout as opposed to actual game speed. Drafting players is not rocket science at least Tuna knows what he is doing. Look at New England as much as I freaking hate them Bill does know how to draft and he does it without breaking the bank or offering stupid ridiculous contracts to unproven rookies who Mel Kiper has dubbed "the next great athlete".

The NFL draft is pure non-sense. Most of the time you lose and you seldom ever actually get what you pay for.

Tobin, running his first Colts draft, chuckled about Kiper's assessment, then launched into a diatribe, moving a half-full glass up and down for emphasis: "Well, you know, we've got a guy up there — who in the hell is Mel Kiper, anyway? I mean, here's a guy that criticizes everybody, whoever they take. ... And in my knowledge of him, he's never, ever put on a jock strap. He's never been a player. He's never been a coach. He's never been a scout. He's never been an administrator. And, all of a sudden, he's an expert.

"Mel Kiper has no more credentials to do what he's doing than my neighbor," Tobin concluded. "And my neighbor's a postman — and he doesn't even have season tickets to the NFL."

People hate on Kiper but he is no worse than many of the clowns hired with all the credentials listed by Tobin. A ouija board could outdo many of the guys with all the credentials he lists. Every scout misses a hell of alot.

Todd McShay is a much better draft analyst than Kiper! Mike Mayock is too! i don't know why they (ESPN) keep his butt around!

Because Kiper made being a draft analyst what it is today. They all have thier positives and negatives. I know Speilman was horrible in that role which did not suprise me.

I give Kiper all the credit in the world for helping turn the Draft into what it is today. That being said, the dude is still a pompous bag of wind.

every analyst out there can be labeled in any way. im sure you can find a bust on every analysts' mock drafts like kiper had Mike Williams. hes not there because he is terrible. im sure kiper has been correct about numerous athletes before so please, this should be the last thing that we should be talking about. we should be focusing on the draft and not the analysts.

b/c for some reason he generates a pretty good revenue stream with his ESPN Insider column. I have a friend who works for ESPN in CT in the business offices and said he must have naked pictures of Walt Disnery raping a horse or something b/c everyone around there kisses his butt like he is the 2nd coming of Christ or something...

Didn't he also say Akili Smith was going to be a dominant NFL Athlete???? HAHAHAAA awesome!!!

We can focus on the draft until the cows come home, but we won't influence a G#D D@*M thing...so we should try to have some fun while we wait...and even people in vegas beat the house hand from time to time...I could probably take 100 college players names (predicted 1st day picks) throw 20 darts at the wall and maybe 10 in 20 are going to have decent careers...I do credit him for making the draft entertaining but I also find it HILARIOUS that people put any clout into what he says...watch college football religiously next year and you too can probably provide the same insight...
