Tannehill should have taken the sack on 2nd down and not have thrown it away. The clock is our friend not the downs. Could have taken the clock to the 2 min warning after the 3rd down run.

At the time he made the throwaway, the instructions were that the team was going to try to get first downs and win with the offense on the field (this straight from both Lazor and Philbin). It was after that play that Joe changed strategy to run clock.

I don't know that taking a sack would be better there if you're under the assumption that you're playing for the 1st down.

In hindsight you can say it would have been better but at the time we were trying to get a first down to ice the game. Taking the sack would have virtually guaranteed that the Packers would get the ball back with just under two minutes. If you want to blame someone for that play look no further than our rookie RT who didn't know which of the two rushers to block and ended up blocking neither of them.

I was at the game so there were alot of things I missed that you see on TV but can't see at the game. So last night I went through agony of watching the full game, paying especially close attention to the our last drive abd Packers lst drive. SO MANY MISSED OPPORTUNITIES!!!! AHHH!!! But back to your original point, on that 2nd down as Tannehill was under center, his eyes were down. He was not looking at the blitzkrieg that was in front of him. I MEAN RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM!!!! He made no attempt to look and recognize the blitz. He needs to get better at making adjustments at the line. Either he's clueless or just downright dumb. How could he NOT see the blitz coming. And then the same on 3rd down. We saw Aaron Rodgers scanning our D prior to EVERY play, and make the necessary adjustments, whether it was blocking adjustment or change of play, or routes, etc..... I'm NOT putting this loss on Tannehill or any particular person or coach, but I'm making an observation. This needs to be addressed if Tannehill is ever going to be above average.
