Chad Henne

Looks like a few people have us pegged to take him.

Would he be there at our later 2nd round pick?

Assuming Miami goes with Chris Long with #1, I would like to get a LT as early as possible in the draft if the value/pick reasonably match up.

I would much rather have Dan Connor if he was available. I also think Henne will be there at 2b.

WAY too early for him at that pick. He's at best a mid 2nd rounded, if a 2nd rounder at all. If we pick up a late 2nd maybe, but not at the top of the 2nd round when we have more pressing needs.

I would hate this idea, even if we took him with our later 2nd round pick. In the 2nd we could get a starter at many other positions.

If we were gonna spend a STARTERS pick on a QB why don't we just get the BEST qb in the draft and take Ryan? It makes no sense. We did it last year with Quinn and now we have "issues' again. Just take the best one and stop trying to play this guessing game of "VALUE" You have the chance to get the best, so get the flipping best

There will be dozens of players with much more value than Henne at 32.

Couldnt agree more. Beck is our guy, and no need to take a QB before round 4.

We'll find out draft day...if Beck is the Dolphins guy...or not. I'm leaning against him...and here's why....why would Parcells and Co. sign free agent QB Josh McCown if they had so much faith in Beck. Instead of bringing in a younger QB like they did....wouldn't they bring in a older Vet for a year...until Beck was ready...seems to me either they don't have much faith in Beck...or they really liked what they saw in McCown....either way, it's not good news for Beck....and time isn't on his side.

Fishy:

What "older" vet was available that had similar skills for similar money? Was McCown the best available that would come to Miami or was the best young Vet available?

If the brain trust feels Beck needs more time on the bench, wouldn't an old vet be a stop gap QB just as well as McCown?

I know some QBs bounch around the league a lot before finding a place to flourish. Maybe that will be McCown. However, he has been the starter in 2 or 3 locations and both chose not to keep him as either a starter or backup.

As you pointed out, till the team hits the field, this is all speculation.

go flowers he can be a shut down corner, we have no future in our secondary and this kid can play zone, one on one and hit like a backer look him up on you tube

jake long
flowers
chilo rachal
erin henderson

You couldn't be more correct with your assessment.
No need to use our first second round pick when
we have MORE pressing needs and there will be a need
fulfilled with that pick

Thats exactly my thought. Why take a QB in round 2 when you have one on the team already. Henne is a project and wouldnt start for a year or two. This team needs starters ASAP.

We signed McCown because you need 3 QB's and we were down to one. He was the best vet left regardless of his role. He is not guaranteed to start. It's as simple as that.

I don't think we should grab a QB with our #32 pick.....if there is still someone decent in the third round, maybe take a chance, but I would rather focus on getting the BPA this year, and letting McCown and Beck battle it out.

The position will singlehandedly make or break the rebuilding of the franchise. There is no bigger "need". The Dolphins will draft a QB early. The front office may very well like Beck, but they're not going to put all their eggs in his basket without any competition for the throne.
