2nd round picks

This we must believe...Maybe trading down and gaing picks this year or next is a MUST now with dumping some quality picks on some overated and no namers at QB.

Its got to be an option, but I were Saban, I wouldn't do it until the actual pick. Call all the teams that pick after you and see what interest there is. Keep in touch with them on draft day. If the draft goes as planned, then you can make the call when whoever is picking at 14 or so and get ready to make a deal. But some player always falls way past where he is projected to go. One might just be there at 16. It would be a ***** if we traded the pick away for a couple of second rounders and Winston Justice slipped to #16.

I agree that this team needs players, but if we could get a stud first rounder who would be a difference maker for years to come, thats worth more than a half dozen second tier support players....esp with the way Saban is handling FA.

I would think it all depends on who's still there when we pick.... you never know, someone might just slide right into our lap.

If Williams or Huff are gone then i think we should trade down, get another pick and take Cromartie later in the 1st.

if we could trade down and still land Manny Lawson, Bobby Carpenter, or Antonio Cromartie in the 1st, I'd be all for it....

I was thinking the same thing.

I hope you are not talking about Culpepper and Lemon. If you are, :m359: A second round pick for Culpepper is a steal for the Phins. As for Lemon, we traded A.J Feely away, and the only way we could make SD eat his contract was to throw in the sixth round pick. It was a wise decision.

Don't agree. It should not have been anything more than a 7th.

I keep saying it. Sinorce Moss, late in the first. Trade down, get a #2 and pick Moss. I've been watching him play. He's Santanas' brother and he rocks.

Going by the famous point chart, we could trade back with Denver. Our 16th for their 29th, second rounder and fourth rounder and be about even on the points. That would give us a 1st,2nd, 3rd, two 4ths and three 7ths

Feely was a mistake by the old regime, and he had to go. His cap would have been nearly 2 million for this year. By trading him we not only got rid of his cap # , but we got a pretty good QB in Lemon. Lemon had a pretty good pre-season posting a QB rating of 111.7. Also, Schottenheimer was reportedly not happy when he heard that the Chargers had traded away Lemon, even though he knew they were getting a 6th round pick. That should tell you something. I think it was a good move even with the 6th round pick.

i say trade our first for a later first and a third, a desperate team will do it.

im fine with our first round pick i just hope saban can get a lower second round pick so we can pick up another DB or even a highly regarded linebacker

Amen...
