With the injuries to our D-Line this year, especially now with Chester out for the year, I think we should look at playing more of a 3-4 Defense. Hell, we're carrying an extra Linebacker anyways. I know that this is unlikely bc of Wanny's stubborn ways, and fear of change, but what do u guys think?

You can't just change the sceme of a defense. The players have been practicing for months on their sceme and assignments. The are so many different responsibilities with a 3-4. Why would you change something that is working. But your post shows me you have no knowledge of football.

Thanks Coach

Maybe in the future, but notime this season will we swtich to a 3-4. That decision is made in the preseason..too late to change

That would be too radical of a change at this point in the season. I think Bryan Robinson will fill in nicely for Chester and hopefully Timbo is back soon. They can compensate for a soft middle by keeping two linebackers inside the hashmarks or bringing up the strong safety or by stunting the lineman and create some confusion up front if need be.

The one thing I wish they would do more is blitz more than one if it's directly at the line or blitz more from the outside such as the safety or cornerback blitz. If we have all of this talent in the secondary then they should be able to cover their guys for atleast 3 - 4 seconds which would be plenty of time for someone to reach the QB. "IF" they stop with the one man blitz up the middle of the OL. That is just a waste of time and resources as 80% of the time it just doesn't work.
