Bates must switch to a 3-4 defensive scheme. The Defense likely will be without Bowens and Chester for most, if not all season. It would utilize the depth at LB, make us somewhat less predictable, hopefully cover up our now pourous interior, and allow some different looks to free up JT. Seau blitzes every other play anyways and would be a good fit as an OLB pass rusher. Maybe this way we can utilize our talent and get the best 11 guys on the field. Coach Dave, coach for fvck sake.

We don't have the personnel for it. As it was explained just last week, the 3-4 is a "big linebacker" scheme. We're a "small linebacker" team suited to the 4-3.

I again lament no Vince Wilfolk.

Until I see some credentials from you, why dont you not tell me what was "explained" last week. You know what else we dont have personel for? Robinson, Zgonina, and Chidi Ahonatu trying to play DT and stopping the run.

How about this one snappy. OUR DEFENSE IS NOT THE PROBLEM HERE!

A 3-4 is not going to cause Feeley to stay upright or make Lamar Gordon get 3 yards. Why fix the only thing on our team that ain't broken (Injured yes, broken no). If we could run an offense that could give our D a rest then they wouldn' be gassed at the end of the 4th.

cigar, no need to come out here with seven posts and start acting like a bastard. That's his oppinion, I wouldn't only call it a personnel problem with it, I would say it's way too late to start teaching some of these guys the 3-4.

Then maybe Ace over here best not reply to my posts by passing them off as "explained" by a bunch fans with what you call, opinions.

I gotta agree with ya on this one.....why fix something that isn't broken. Our D was what kept us in the game. Wouldn't make a difference when we need a ton of help on offense. I'm not looking forward to seeing our team play a great offensive team. Our D won't completely shut down every team and our O will still suck. This could be a very very long season.

No his point was the thread got started a couple of days ago, by me funnily enough. Just search for existing threads on the topic and you'll see what he means.

D Bo, J Will and JT are all not DEs in a 3-4 scheme. Our LBs w/Pope as ILB c/handle 3-4 IMO, but we would need to use B Robinson/Chidi as LDE, Zgonina/Romero at NT and leave JT are RDE. That w/make JT really easy to double. It would be a last resort for our D. Our D is in trouble because of injures even if they played great for 110 minutes this year

:yeahthat:

You know, I try to be nice and that's what I get. On most sites, the grizzled vets respond to something like this with a "STFU noob" or "Search is your friend".

You're not going to find any coaches here, dude. This is a message board if that didn't occur to you.
