I was a bit disappointed not getting Manny Lawson, but this draft is looking really solid as far as potentially good, hybrid 3-4 OLBs go. Aside from Gaines Adams and Quentin Moses, there's Jarvin Moss, Charles Johnson, Lamarr Woodley, Anthony Spencer, Dan Bazuin, Jacob Ford, and a few slightly smaller guys.

I fully expect us to select one of these guys come draft day. Woodley, Moss, and Spencer are all intriguing possibilities. Anyone have any additional details on any of these guys?

I'm not all that keen on converting a DE to play our SLB because I think it would be better to draft one of these guys when JT retires being that that is the position they would be best suited to play in a 3-4 system as a LB. Hopefully we get Adalius Thomas but if we don't and we were going to draft one of these guys to groom as a LB I would want Anthony Spencer.
The buzz on a couple of draft sites is that he may run in the 4.4's and he's a good size at around 270 pounds. I have no idea what he'll run but if he runs in that range at 270 then I would like to get him with the 40th pick.

Many of the players he mentioned have played the hybrid role in college. Gaines Adams IMO played it the best.

Why wait until JT retires when you can already have someone in place who not can learn from either playing with or behind JT. That player will also have the extra benefit of already being in the system and (hopefully) up to NFL speed.

Best case scenario. Adrian Petersen slides to the #9 and we trade down with the Ravens and get ourselves some extra picks. We draft Jarvis Moss because he is the only DE/OLB candidate who has the athleticism to actually be successfull doing LB duty.

The more I read the more I think Adams, Spencer, and Moss have the most upside to make the conversion. I don't think Arrington could play that position for us . . . particularly because of his lack of discipline. I also just don't think we should waste money on an older guy who seems to have a hard time making it through an entire season healthy.

I agree that Thomas is the best answer for next season. If we sign him, then we could probably wait a few extra rounds rather than spending a 1st or 2nd on a guy. Just find somebody to groom for a few years.

If Poluszny is there when we pick in the 2nd round which I think he will be I hope we jump on him.

I really like Spencer, but I doubt he or Moss is there at #40. I could only hope Adams is there at #9.
