3 GAMES AND OUR d HAVE YET TO GIVE UP A td!!!

yea. there is a good chance it will be 4 games after next week. going into new york with 4 games and no td allowed would have our secondary up to the task against brett favre.
 
Shhh most people here don't want to look at those facts. They would rather just say we suck and deserve to lose games. Doesn't matter we are 9-5 to them or that we haven't allowed a TD in 3 games now.
 
You're right, but sooner or later we need to start scoring more points, we can be winning like this every week, I know that in the end all it matters is the final score. The defense was on the field for too long today we need to open up the offense a little be more.

it's been an interesting streak, but the numbers speak for themselves. really a nod to the coaching staff to not allow a single score in three games after that Patriots game, where we couldn't stop anything at all
 
The best part about our defense is that they don't care if they're out there for 40 min. or 15 min. They know it's their job to stop offenses from scoring no matter what. Field position time of possetion nothing shakes our defense. And that comes from coaching.

You know what Parcells used to say about excuses "if you give your players one , they'll use it" . And I believe Sporano has that same approach. Great job defense.
 
I'm surprised.. Its true, we've gone a full 3 games without giving up an offensive TD.. but the one thing that sticks in my mind is how many yards is given up.. Should I be happy with a team that takes 10 and 11 minutes to drive down the field only to settle for a FG?? No.. I see it as the other team chokes when they get to the 20 yard line and one day in the near future we'll play against a team that doesnt choke (like the Pats and Arizona) and then its gonna get ugly real fast..

We may be 9-5 and in control of our destiny, but if our defense doesnt step up and figure out a way to dominate the play.. we're gonna get our azzes handed to us by either the Jets or our 1st round opponent..

IMO our defense HAS NOT improved much since the Arizona game.. instead, we've gotten hella lucky..
 
It is hard to believe. I keep getting nervous when the offense gets into the red zone, but I am starting to believe. Please remember that Hill was the top rated passer through the previous three games. He is playing very well, and he has shown the ability to score TDs in the red zone. If we can stop the 49ers from converting, then we have a chance to stop anyone.

Lucky? LUCKY?? They are consistently making game deciding plays in the 4th quarter of close games and you think they are lucky?? Some of you complain that the media doesn't give us enough props, yet it seems that our OWN FANS don't even give us enough props. How friggin sad.
 
Anyway know what the record is for most consecutive quarters/games without giving up a TD????

Dude... you can sit there with your rose colored glasses as long as you want.. but when we come up against an offense that doesnt self destruct, doesnt make mistakes and has an accurate QB.. We're gonna get killed..

that is mighty impressive .. if you take out NE they didn't allow one in the game before that either .. so if anyone has a stat on how many times we didn't allow a TD all year that would be nice .. lets see if it carries into next week too

it's not rose-colored glasses. there's no such thing as so much luck that the difference is getting blown out and not allowing a single touchdown in 12 quarters. it just doesn't exist. we're WORLDS better than the Cardinals game.
