Before you get steamed about this post, listen to what I have to say.....

We have already gone 4 or 5 yrs without making the playoffs and I don't think we will make them again anytime soon and here is why.....

As I said in a previous post - Our last 2 draft's have been a total disaster. With the exception of Channing Crowder (and it isnt as though he's been a total game changer) what else do we have to show??? Granted Saban only has 2 drafts under his belt but so far we don't have any immediate impacts.

Our D-line is old and will only get worse.

Our defense can't creat turnovers or stop the f***ing run.

I'm a firm believer that championship teams begin with the offensive line, and so far Saban hasn't drafted anyone special. I also believe there is a difference between drafting quality offensive linemen vs depth and so far Saban hasn't drafted any quality on the O-line which has to tell you something.

I also think Saban is way in over his head at this level and don't be surprised if he steps aside after this year or next. I'm not saying he's a quiter but he has a huge ego and I don't think he will be able to handle losing over an extended period of time.

The bottom line is that we have a lot of great names on paper but no talent on the field. I have a feeling we might be 1-6 or 2-5 at our bye week and by that time most of our players will have given up. I don't care what anyone else says.

Umm no. Before I get into details, you can't jude a draft class till at least 3 years. I think we hit on Crowder pretty good already. You think that Channing Crowder is the only positive of the 2 drafts? What about Travis Daniels, Matt Roth, RONNIE BROWN??? You do know that Saban drafted Ronnie Brown right? I don't see how you can forecast our future 3-4 years down the line. Unbelieveable.

Thank you for writing this out. Didnt realize Channing Crowder was the ONLY quality player that Saban has drafted. :rolleyes2

Bro,

There is no way I can forecast the future and yes I am aware Saban drafted Brown, but as far as Daniels, Roth and the rest of them are concerned I have to say they are average at best.

I also don't believe you have to wait 3 or 4 yrs to judge a draft class. Why not 2 or 3 yrs or 6 or 7??? Remember most impact players only stay in the league for 5 - 8 yrs and teams only have about 12 impact players on their rosters out of 53. How many do we have???? Not 12 that's for sure and we have absolutely none on the offensive line.

Think about it, the last time we made it to the playoffs we had Fiedler at QB and Lamar Smith as a running back, but more importantly Zach and Jason were 5 yrs younger, and we had a solid secondary. Now we have a 2nd yr running back with only 2 100yd rushing games, a qb who has a bum leg, Zach & Jason are in the twilight's of their careers, and we have no impact players on the O-line.

So explain to me how we are going to get back to the playoffs within the next 3 yrs???

With a young skill players like Chambers, McMichael, Brown, Hagan and Welker. Saban is slowly replacing those aging defenders with youth. (Roth, Crowder, Daniels.) I believe in the philosphy that says draft defense, and bolster your oline through FA. It's a process, and we're all part of it. And by the way, this year is far from over.

You win my nomination for stupidest post of the year. No, I'm serious. Next time you think you have a good idea to post, don't.

i disagree, you're too pessimist... you've drawn thw worst case scenario

Crowder has not done anything this year so far. He was invisible against the Bills. As far as Roth he hasn't done a thing either. Daniels has been average. About the only player that Nick has drafted that has shown a lot of promise so far is Ronnie Brown.

We haven't had any great offensive linemen drafted since Shula was head coach. Jimmy and Dave screwed the draft up big time when it came to o-linemen and Nick hasn't drafted any that have done a thing yet either

Come on man give this O-Line time to gel before you throw them into the fire. Also when Toledo and Alabi get their chance to play they are going to be very solid IMO

Its one thing to see your own teams flaws, its another to think that there is nothing good about the team whatsoever
