Last play of the game, on our 41yd line with 3 ticks left, down by 1 point, and knowing that Chad Penny has the arm strength of a garden pea.... why-o-why didnt we put in Chad Henne and his cannon to heave it 60yds down field into the endzone?

I won't bash Penny (I like him) but I figured Henne could come in for the hail marry. Tho in the end the hook and lateral prolly has the same % chance of winning as the bomb does so it doesn't really matter.

As soon as Fasano fell with the ball i just thought to myself "great.....because nobody can throw the ball 59 yards like Chad Pennington" and then he made me even more sick to my stomach by throwing it 3 yards to Ricky.

I'm pretty sure that you have a better chance on a hail mary than that trash that we ran. It wasn't even a designed play. Ricky looked lost as soon as he saw a defender.

It would have been a better play at least give a chance for a hailmary catch or maybe a flag down field. The play they ran gave them no chance to score.

Agreed, the best that could happen, we score a TD. Acceptable would be to get a interference call which would put us in position for a FG. Worst case? Pick 6. At that point we had nothing to lose and everything to gain.

I truly expected to see Fasano toss the ball back to Ginn and see what he could do. After Fasano went down I waited for #7 to come out to throw up the bomb. The little slant route didn't do ****.

My roomate said this. The reason we wouldnt put Henne is is because Pennington would lose all the respect of his team if they put Henne in for one play.

I dont think Penny is that shallow, he is a team player and proves it everyday. Ball was on the 38? drop back 10 yds, throwing from yor own 30 maybe makes it a 70 yds throw, can Henne even do that? I dont know but I think the play call was the best call they could have made. Plus there were many other play calls that could have been better that to question the last call. We should have never been in that situation, defense just didnt get it done, it happens.

yea that probly would have been better then the Yards that we did get and if some one would have caught that it would have been a great play for us maybe Brandon London

I've never really understood that though. I mean surely the Hail Mary has a higher % of working in some capacity, maybe a penalty is called on the defense, holding, PI, contact whatever. The pitch stuff at the end of games rarely seems to work, where as Hail Mary's might work with the right bounces or something.

seems like if your gonna toss it around a little bit, shouldn't you have people ready to take a lateral besides for linemen!! thats what really got me. I had a feeling we'd do that, we've done it many times it seems like, but we never have another skills guy take that first pitch and thats the only way that play works.

Thats the problem tho, they dont call PI on hail marry thorws. I seen one where the reciver was all but tackled and the had the coach miked up. He went running over yelling at the ref and the ref said hey unless the guy gets raped I'm not gonna throw that flag. I couldn't belive my ears but thats what he said to the coach point blank.
