if You can address 3 things (and 3 things only) in the off season that would help our team go to the next level, what would they be? Please take into account our limited cap and draft situation.

For me:
1. MLB (an enforcer) via draft or FA
2. OT via draft who could start by year 2
3. New DC - I want Fangio or someone with experience who can mentor McDaniel from time to time.

We need way more than 3 things, but if I had to choose (assuming Tua stays healthy), assuming X gets healthy and we can count on Byron Jones (don’t think any of those guys get cut), I’d agree with those 3 as priorities. CB becomes a primary need should X/Jones flop..

Secondary needs:
LG, C
TE
RB
All around depth

Lb ...middle more than likely
Edge ... or NT but the DL has to get to the Qb more often than not
S ... pairing a star with Holland wouldn't suck

Need to find impact players on defense to compliment the offense. There are issues @ OL and TE and K but given 3 choices I would have to go defense all the way.

I know nothing about the class of 23 but it's seldom to find a good OT after round one. Better to use the 2nd rounder on the best MLB and go find OT in FA. I've heard that Payton wants Fangio to join him wherever he goes so that may not allow him to be available.

McD will have good knowledge on McGlinchey who has a 71.6 PFF grade....

It may be that Payton will need to follow Fangio.
Wouldn't that be a "kick in the teeth" for some people.

Kinda wish we had gotten Roquan Smith instead of chubb, wonder why grier didn’t….we will see what the offsesaon brings. but we still have this one to finish and hopefully on a high note!
Same here.

I mean, he's going to be rooting for the Cowgals to lose as that's the job he wants (Payton). Kneejerk Jerry will make him the next Dallas HC unless they get all the way to the NFC champ game. That's about the level of accomplishment that will keep current HC safe. Jerruh knows he's old regardless of how many facelifts he has and is going to do anything to get him another Lombardi.

A QB prospect in mid round to compete with Tua. Grier gonna have to do a lot of homework to get this right
Two new TEs
Two new LBs
Two new CBs
OL help depth
Wilkins signing
New DC
New ST coach
A new play caller
RB depth

Eight new players and three new coaches.
That should do it. - LOL

With 52 players on a team and our current body of 26 coaches, that may not be too much to ask from a HC just starting his second year, so you may be right.

The real questions for me are not who we are going to replace, but who we are going to keep. This may not be as easy to answer, but it does do a better job of defining what the team is actually going to be like.

It will tell us if we need to change our game plan based on our personnel as opposed to changing our game plan based on our opponents' personnel. This actually describes why our team appears to have been "inconsistent" this year!

(Watch some posters say something to the effect that most of those other players aren't going to be on the field that much, so they are not that important.)

It makes me wonder what they have been watching the last two years!

All the narrow-minded whining I read here reminds me of someone trying to show how "special" they are by complaining about the platter a piece of steak is served on while ignoring the fact they are eating the steak, not the platter. This seems to be especially common, coming from someone who is not "picking up the check". Maybe they would be happier "buying stock" from the team - i.e., becoming part of the ownership.
