The Dolphins are using a lot of corner blitzes. That makes the signing of Lance Schulters even more significant. Nick Saban's defense puts so much pressure on the free safety it's not even funny. Arturo Freeman could not play in this defense. Either could Sammy Knight. Gotta be able to cover a lot of ground and think quick.

J.T. got the best of Vernon Carey. I've learned that Vernon is not good in space. He's fine if he's locked on with a DE, but if that guy drops and a LB rushes, Vernon's not quick enough to pick him up. That would worry me against teams like New England.

Heath Evans will make you quickly forget about Rob Konrad. I love Rob, but Heath is Rob with more athletic ability. Quick and powerful. And, oh, what hands.

Good stuff jbond. I think Carey will be ok. JT gave him some praise. He played at a top tier college program under one of the best OL coaches in college. The ability is there and I think under Houck he can flourish.

True about the importance of FS. Im glad we got Lance!
Regarding VC, give the guy some time... remember he is going againts one of the best DE in the league every day in practice. I was at one of those practice and what I saw was very encouraging. True he got schooled by JT in a couple of plays, but overall he looked good.
My worries with the OL is with the center position, when I was at TC McKinney was being constantly schooled by a 7th RD rook!! That my friend is really something to worry about.

McKinney has not impoved since he's been in the league. I think that ship has sailed. Time to move on and get a real C in there. Or we may have to buy AJ or Gus some butt-pads!!
