Thats all a QB needs to throw the ball. Sitting here this afternoon and watching the games i analysed some of the games and most of the QBs, if its not a Bomb ,Hold the ball 3-4 seconds..

I am not bashing our Oline either because i dont believe an Oline that gave up very little sacks last year and has been revamped with better Olineman can give up this many sacks...

I hold DC responsible for atleast half the sacks this year...And NO i dont want DC on the bench but if he cant adjust his timing on the throws his season will continue to be the same way...

On another note.. he needs to take some risks and stop being so hesitant to throw the ball up and let his recievers make plays...

This is my opinion on how i think we are going to win football games.. We dont need anyone else new on the Offense. We have the players to win, all we need is intelligence and some BALLS to correct these obvious mistakes.. And if DC continues to Hold the ball too long I hope Saban changes him before our season goes down the drain...

I read that the average NFL pass takes 2.9 seconds, which seems even longer than you think. They tell the QB if they cant find anyone in that time span to throw it away, unless there is a running lane. Thats how the whole clock mentality in the QB's head thing comes in. I dont know what, but Daunte for some reason is rattled. He just doesn't appear to have that mentality, or a lot of other mental skills required to be an effective QB. He looked jumpy to start the season, and now that he gets no protection he reminds me almost of David Carr from past seasons.

Yeah the only time i see him throw the ball that soon is when they call a WR screen or a quick TE/RB dumpoff play

i would like to count how many seconds it takes dumbte to throw 9 -:tantrum: 19 seconds

all these pep lovers seem to think he should be able to pitch a tent and set up camp in the pocket. this the nfl you have to be able to ACT quick. im not a big fan of preseason but joey played with the starting oline in preseason and did better than cpep.

Correction, he looks like Rob Johnson :dolphins:

right on point.

Daunte has always been like this. He just stands in the pocket forever and has no mental clock. In Minnesota it was like watching old NFL Films of the Oakland Raiders and just having a QB stand in there like a statue and not have anyone close to him.

He is used to never being heavy blitzed (or else he would just toss it deep to Moss 1 on 1).
He is not used to not having a QB Spy on him.
He is not used to having to make a decision so quick because teams can finally blitz him. They don't have to worry about him evading the pocket and making a big play or just tossing it deep to Moss (who when 1 on 1 is just as good as a garuntee in the NFL as anything).

Funny but if you time him in the previous 3 games, you will find he makes a decision in about 2.8 seconds, unfortunately after 1.5 seconds there is already a defender in his face, that doesn't really help, you can ask Hassleback and Palmer how that feels.

I honestly feel he is improving every wk, slowly, but he's getting used to the contact. He probably thinks about his knee alot. I think he's going to be alright. Any play that Daunte turns his back on... chalk that up as a sack. To much time to develop. And... Mularkey sucks.

As you can see I do not post alot but for once I agree with a thread. PHINishinStrong is totally correct in my eyes. And to state it now. I dont see CP being benched or want him benched anytime soon. So to add something about our D. If they were not out there all the time because of all the 3 and outs they would be alot fresher. Capers needs to stop blitzing so much. We are getting killed on the short passes from all the blitzes. Just my thoughts.

i said atleast half the sacks is how many i hold him accountable for. Not every Oline is perfect... Even Hasselbeck, Palmer, even Manning for that matter get heat from time to time but they adjust somehow or get sacked for a loss but not as often as Cpep...
