3000 tickets unsold for MNF opener

We rather spend the money on other stuff WHILE watching the game at home for free.

Why can't people understand this?

It's the same GAME from your couch too.

1-7 at home last year is also a factor too. Why support garbage?

aaaaaaand there it is. My point stands.

Whether you like it or not, Miami has the worst sports fans. The majority of the area would rather be scalping jai-alai tickets than supporting their dominant traditional sports team. And im NOT talking about the Hialeah Habaneros.

it has been a problem longer than just this year, this is the worst year though. Did you see that Marlins like crowd last night?

Ummm to be honest i think it is because in Miami the economy is truly falling apart
you got people who come here that will work for 3 dollars an hour under the table..
Miami has the highest unemployment rate of all major Florida cities.
I was layed off and some of my family and many friends too
it is all about survival and making tough choices if i go to a dolphins game that means
unbalanced meals and dollar menu for a month.. :)

P.S. So if you know a decent place for a dolphin fan to work pm me im flexible
i can sell whatever get along with others team player ect then i will buy tickets :p

I agree with the sentiments of some of the other posters here. Don't make excuses for our pathetic fanbase. Economy my ***.

Your utter lack of empathy for people who've lost their jobs, who in some cases have lost their homes or have their life savings vaporized when their home depreciated in value, is staggering. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I'm one of the lucky ones, but people are really suffering down here. GTFO, seriously.

Not surprised. You can't put a "losing" product on the field for 10 years now and have an owner who acts like a fool making the franchise look like a joke.....combine that with a horrible economy and this is what you get. The fans have quit on this team.

People who post on this board and others like it are the die-hards of the die-hards. But the average joe who just "Likes the Fins" and just watches Sunday to Sunday and doesn't go online to read on them all week/every day and spend 20+ hours a week consumed with the Fins,....those fans are gone. They have given up. They are spending their money elsewhere. AND YOU CAN'T BLAME THEM!
Sure you can blame them. They are the fair weathered fans
They are the weak people with no backbone or no loyalty! They are the scum!!!

Good luck trying to rationally discuss this with the others who seem to think we all are loaded down here with NO problems...

I will laugh my *** off if the home opener on MNF is blacked out.. Hows that for a message Ross!?!?

Honestly, I am beginning to feel sorry for you man. Your favorite team and you take pleasure in this stuff. It has nothing to do with this team. The Miami area fan base sucks. There is a 5 year plus (definately understated) waiting list for Broncos season tickets. And its not like they have been on fire.

LOL at the morons in this thread thinking the Dolphins could be moved because we're suddenly not selling out our games.

The Dolphins are a billion+ dollar sports entity and they make plenty of money. We're not the Raiders or the Jaguars who are the real prime candidates for relocation. The Dolphins, as an NFL franchise, are untouchable...as they have been for the past 45 years. The Dolphins are pioneers for NFL international expansion, since it seems like there's so many Dolphins fans worldwide. Sure, the Steelers fans travel well across the country, but do you expect them to be over in England or Japan? Just because you hate the South Florida fanbase or you hate Stephen Ross or you hate Tony Sparano and Jeff Ireland or you hate the celebrity owners, that doesn't mean this franchise is in the red and is going off the deep end. A dying franchise wouldn't be getting a 300-million dollar facelift to their stadium that will host future Super Bowls as soon as the baseball team leaves.

Give me a ****ing break. One thing many people forget is that cost of living is different across the country. Seats are worth 100+ bucks in the Meadowlands because people can afford it in the tri-states -- salaries and minimum wages are higher in the northeast.

You out-of-state folk have a lot of nerve calling us bad fans down here. I'm broke. I cannot afford to go to these games, and that's that. Am I a bad fan because I cant sacrifice what little money I have on a football game? We're all struggling down here. If you feel like blaming anyone, blame Roger Goodell and the National Football League's archaic television blackout policy. Blame the billionaires wanting more money, not us.

Let's not let the facts of the real world get in the way of another bashing thread.

You forgot we have increasing property taxes, property insurance rates, electric rates keep rising, fees for doing any business in the state are rising as well...

What kind of fan are you? Screw your taxes let a lean be placed on your house! Insurance Ha Fins Up! No coverage needed.

Yep, the cost of living here in Dallas is as good as anywhere in the Nation right now (Conservative State doing good while the economy is complete Crap :err: Co-inky-fink? I think NOT), and Jerra still can't sell enough tickets to pay for his new stadium.

Lets face it, LOTS of people are doing without luxeries right now, and paying 600.00 so a family of 4 can sit in the stands is a bit out of touch for the majority right now.

Only reason they can do it in New Jersey is that all the Jest fans actually live in the sewer (Its true, I saw the National Geo special on it, thats how they like to roll...down the sewer river, feels natural to them), so they don't have mortgage or all those silly utilities to buy........

How is this relevant? Are you a fan of the team or not?

Some days. :chuckle:

Seriously though, everybody knows Miami has fair weather fans. I'm personally cool with that. I wouldn't go to the games either if my team wasn't making any headway of putting a winning product on the field.

That would be a fantastic point if rival fans hadn't been getting multiple thousands of seats at our home games for YEARS.

Economy? Let's take a look at the Marlins. You can literally go to a Marlins game for a couple bucks. Where are the fans? What excuse is there for that?

Miami Heat: Most entertaining team in the league and there are noticeable amounts of empty seats well into the game during the playoffs. At some point you have to be realistic about the fans down here. It's just a bunch of casual, fairweather sports fans.

Wait so you didn't see the ads for Cowboys season tix during the game the other night? Lol. They're just as desperate to fill their stadium.

Considering they have about as many fans in the state as the Dolphins have fans... not surprising. However, Dolphins have one of the biggest national, AND international fan bases. I know, strange huh.

Baseball sucks for one. I'm not even a baseball fan, but every time the Marlins are successful they blow their roster up cause the owner is cheap.

Only knock on the Miami Heat is late arriving fans, they sold out 100% of their games.
