3000 tickets unsold for MNF opener

I have a solution to fill the seats at SunLife Stadium, and it'll work.

So if the Dolphins come out and beat the Pats and the seats start selling like hotcakes the rest of the year, is it still the economy?

I definitely think it will still play a factor, but people tend to "justify" those "extra" dollars on a product worth spending on and the Dolphins not winning a playoff game since the Lamar Smith game hasn't really justifed those extra dollars. When the economy was booming, people could spend 3 hundred on taking the family out one Sunday to watch the game . . . now its a harder decision.

I would like to take this opportunity to say that if I were living in s florida, i would be at every game just to get away from the wife and take in the scenery while rooting for my dolphins whether good or not. If I were a single man, I could not think of a better place to run into a hottie at a game who enjoys the same team, sport, ect. as me?

I could think of dozens of better places to pick up girls than at a football game. How about a bar, club, or the beach?

Besides, there is something sacred about the 16 weeks+playoffs on Sundays. It's a day for us men to get together and drink a bunch of beers, eat greasy American food, laugh about fart jokes, and talk about porn. It is the one day we are free from every day work BS and needy women. Smart women know not to mess with a man's football Sundays.

Yes, unfortunately women aren't that smart . . . and I have dumped several girls over the Dolphins. Don't get mad at me when I am watching the Fins, they lose, and I don't want to be bothered. It isn't about you right now.

Dumb Thread,,,I live in NY and I was still able to score Jets opening night tickets. Relax,

Excuses, excuses, excuses ...

That's all I ever hear around these parts on this topic.

Now, if you can't afford to go - stop reading here, I'm not talking to you.

However, if that is not the problem, and you choose to stay away because (as I actually read here in this thread by several people :bobdole:) of 1-7 last year at home/we've sucked lately/coach sucks/GM sucks/didn't bring in QB competition/NE is gonna kill us/I'd rather go to the beach/it's just as good if not better on TV ... or whatever other bull**** you've concocted. I hope you're proud of the fair-weather fan status that you've just bestowed upon yourself. I am disappointed in you, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'll be driving 3+ hours each way to Cleveland for our game September 25th.
I'll be flying in for the Broncos game October 23rd.

I'm absolutely ****ing stoked that I'm gonna get to see our Dolphins twice this season!

... and, this is coming from the guy that bitched and moaned about our team all offseason long.

If we suck, I'll be pissed. If we win, I may set a couch on fire. :chuckle:

But, for those who have the opinion that "they'll go when we start winning again" ... GFY. I have no tolerance for supposed "fans" that have a laundry list full of excuses as to why they would rather be doing something else than going to the game.

For the love of Shula, I thought that we were the hard-core portion of the fan base. How this could somehow be justified on FinHeaven, boggles my mind.

Yeah but your just flying down for the Bronco's game to honor TeBlow!

 I can't stand Mr. Overhyped Tebow, getting to boo him is just a nice fringe benefit.

Man, I've seen quite a bit of Tebow in this Preseason...he REALLY, and I mean REALLY!!!!! sucks.

I also watched his coach just about have an anorisim. They had a pass play on 3rd and 10....that went for 9... a solid 9.
Tebow went to him pleading his case...just about in tears... insisting he throw the challenge flag.
Well, it was obvious to everybody that his WR was well short...but Tebow got his way, and of course it was short.
He then spent the next 5 minutes pleading with Fox to let him go for it........ He just doesnt quite get "It".

ya i hear that. just like ur stoked to get to see the fins play in person twice this season, i am stoked that i will be able to see them play 3 times in person at least, including a trip to the opener next monday night.

i am feeling good about this season

I definitely not complaining.. Been a season ticket holder now for 5 years in row about to make it 6.. Did it bother me when we went 1-15? Yes. Did I give up on the dolphins? No. No matter what the outcomes are for the dolphins I'll be a loyal fin fan till the day I die. They can even bring back wannstache and I'll still be a top flight fan (although I'd rather not see that happen lol)

I dont get some people in s florida. I mean, I would get seats near the cheerleaders and be asking them out sending paper airplane notes. whats the worst they can say? no?

I agree 1000000%
