3000 tickets unsold for MNF opener

Excuses, excuses, excuses ...

That's all I ever hear around these parts on this topic.

Now, if you can't afford to go - stop reading here, I'm not talking to you.

However, if that is not the problem, and you choose to stay away because (as I actually read here in this thread by several people :bobdole:) of 1-7 last year at home/we've sucked lately/coach sucks/GM sucks/didn't bring in QB competition/NE is gonna kill us/I'd rather go to the beach/it's just as good if not better on TV ... or whatever other bull**** you've concocted. I hope you're proud of the fair-weather fan status that you've just bestowed upon yourself. I am disappointed in you, and you should be ashamed of yourself.

I'll be driving 3+ hours each way to Cleveland for our game September 25th.
I'll be flying in for the Broncos game October 23rd.

I'm absolutely ****ing stoked that I'm gonna get to see our Dolphins twice this season!

... and, this is coming from the guy that bitched and moaned about our team all offseason long.

If we suck, I'll be pissed. If we win, I may set a couch on fire. :chuckle:

But, for those who have the opinion that "they'll go when we start winning again" ... GFY. I have no tolerance for supposed "fans" that have a laundry list full of excuses as to why they would rather be doing something else than going to the game.

For the love of Shula, I thought that we were the hard-core portion of the fan base. How this could somehow be justified on FinHeaven, boggles my mind.

If I only lived 3 hours from the stadium I would be a season ticket holder. YOU'RE A TERRIBLE FAN!!!!

Spend money on a bad product. Sign me up.

So your idea is to wait until your product is good and then what, you spend money on it? It's nice that you assume you're going to be alive for the next 80 years guaranteed so you figure you can wait until the team is SB worthy and then you make yourself look smart by waiting until then to start going back to games.

Why not live it in the now though? Can passion for a product really waver based on the highs and lows of being a fan of it?

Is it just me or are you not really understanding Bumpus's point?

Three hours is really not that far, what possible reason could he have for not going to at least 5 or 6 games? Its unacceptable to me that he only goes to one game and disrespectful to us real fans and the organization.

I hope the game doesn't sell out, I hope none of the games sell-out. I want Ross to be embarrassed on national TV like he embarrassed the fans with the Harbaugh/Sparano debacle and his other ownership bull****.

I saw highlights of the Phillies at the Marlin's tonight and the place was empty...you have to wonder if the Marlin's new stadium will make any difference as far as fans supporting their local teams. I think the bottom line is if team's win the fans will show up, but with the economy the way it is, many people would rather just watch sports at home....if there is a blackout for the Phins locally that's life.

Bumpus lives in WEST VIRGINIA that is the point you missed. I don't care how close or far you live, some people don't have the means to go, or prefer watching the game at home or at a sports bar. You go be a fan your way let everyone else be one their way fair enough?

Exactly.

Bumpus was the one telling the locals they're bad fans for not going to the games.

This thread is still going strong? It's not rocket science- MOST PEOPLE DON'T WANT TO SPEND MONEY TO WATCH **** FESTER.

Those of you who enjoy the stench, and more, support it with loving hearts- god bless you. You're truly loyal fans with healthy bank accounts.

So if the Dolphins come out and beat the Pats and the seats start selling like hotcakes the rest of the year, is it still the economy?

Don't you think..and..I know I'm taking a giant risk here. Don't you think if the team puts a winning/exciting product on the field (yes, during the bad economy? Do you even live in Florida?) may be willing to use their hard earned money a little more? I mean..I know I love throwing hundreds of dollars away to watch a team get blown out and have a miseralbe 2 hour drive home. No thanks, been there done that too many times. I think I've "supported" my team plenty.

No we must throw thousands of dollars away anyway to "support" the team at "all" times.

I loved the 1-7 home stand last year and its drives back home...God those were miserable.
