3rd and anything

Our offense is miserably easy to stop and we have 0 pass defense...
That about sums it up

Here's a plan to beat the Dolphins, every game:

Screen pass/dump off to the running back on 3rd and 10+

It's guaranteed to get 11+ for that first down you need! Guaranteed!

Playcalling -

Example:
- 3rd and 11 hand off to Brown inside the 12
- 3rd and 10 reverse to Cobbs which leads to the 4th and 7 3 yard Pennington special

You have to assume a lot of the 3rd down awfulness is because the Quarterback just can't throw the ball in long yardage situations.

exacly and pplbstill think penny isn't the problem.

Btw that 2nd down pass to ginn had he had an arm it would have been complete. The one with like 5 min left at our own 4

HE ISNT!

It'd be nice if Pennington had a big arm, and it'd also be nice if he had a couple of halfway decent receivers. I have a hard time blaming Pennington when we don't have a legitimate #2 receiver on this team, let alone a #1.

I don't think Penny's lack of a big arm hurt us on the defensive 3rd and anythings. I mean, when in multiple times on a drive we have 3rd and 10+ lead to a big big play for the opposing team, there's nothing Penny's arm can do about that.

This defense is horrible on 3rd down. You can just dump off a short pass for 2 yards and it will lead to a gain of 20+ yards due to the poor tackling ability of this defense. It's like the first 3 defenders are always missing or getting out duked from the offenseive player.
It's better to have the opposing team offense in a third and short so that they may run the ball and the defense can make a play. Any pass always leads to a big gain.

I think it boils down to not having WR's who can get seperation from the DB, and having DB's who just about every WR can seperate from. Also, i have NEVER seen a secondary drop so many interceptions. Will Allen did it again today and Baltimore scored a TD on the same series. It's mind boggling!

Today was not about the wide receivers. They were open and Pennington missed them multiple times. Our team basically just gives up on 3rd and long. They don't even try to get the first down.
