Looks like we are going full time from the 4/3 to the 3/4. Just wanted to get some feedback on how stout the run defense will be with a 3/4 instead of the 4/3. The reason why I ask is that some of the older Dol Fans will remember our defense was not as stout against the run when we played the 3/4 under Shula and the run defense improved when Jimmy Johnson switched to the 4/3!

personel.
All depends on the player and right now to be honest we are not fit for the 3-4. we have 1 DE (Holliday) no NG 1 OLB (Porter) not sure where JT fits in he is not a DE he is not really a OLB. 1 might have 1 MLB (Crowder) and other then that we are lost.

this thread is now a daily occurrence. fantastic.

against the run will probably be shaky next year to be honest. we don't know who our NT will be, don't know if JT stays or where he'll play, and don't know who will line up next to crowder in the middle. our 3-4 ends as of right now, holliday and wright, are good against the run so at least that is a bright spot. and if we draft bell, who hits like a freak and is good against the run, then we are that much better. bob dole says who knows brosuf.

i dont think we should go 3-4...were already built for a 4-3,and we are already rebuilding, this is just going to make the rebuilding stage, that much harder....

Why do you say it looks like we are going full time to a 3-4? Where are you getting that info?

I hope we install a system that fits our roster when that is more clearly known, then stick with it and acquire players that fit that system. Whatever happens I hope it sticks and we build around that system.

I like the 4-3 a lot better but if playing in a 3-4 defense fits our roster and works I'm ok with it.
