4 senior players who have been quiet. Thoughts?

Actually, I am pleased with Delmas play. He is aggressively attacking the runners preventing yards after contact. He has tackled receivers short of third downs. He is making the plays I expected him to make.

i've got 3 solid game grades for delmas and one bad one...he was pretty bad vs kc diving at air and not seeing what he was trying to tackle etc...both the safeties played poorly vs kc...really poorly

if you are looking for gibby to get more involved i kinda doubt it...they are working landry in more and more in the offense...

delmas attacks the ball though especially in run support...there is no hesitation...gets to things wide in space well...just needs to be a more form tackler and see what he's hitting...but that's been what he is since he came in the league and its not gonna change

Anyone know what Clay's injury is? See he's wearing a knee brace.

No clue but it speaks to his devotion to the team that he didn't opt for surgery or time off, especially being a late rnd pick and all and being in contract year.

Unlike Pouncy...

From reading around and listening to the radio (I haven't seen a single game this year yet) Clay is being schemed against, quite
wisely. Take away Tannehill's short options and make him beat you deep. That's exactly what I'd do.

2 sacks and two forced fumbles for Wake isn't bad. I'll take that out of any player. You might want to check JJ Watt's stat line.

Gibson...Meh. I don't expect lots out of him. Nor from Delmas

Clay just isn't moving as well as last year because of his injury/knee brace, with a couple weeks off and as the season goes on I expect he'll be back to normal. He definitely tries to bring the wood to defenders even if hes not getting great yards, seen him run over people almost every reception he gets. Delmas, he's been good at run support and ok at coverage, but above all that he's been a great team player on the field congratulating every player that makes a play on D and he's almost always the first guy over to help his team mates up. Like that a lot.

Gibson just has to hold on to the football. He's had more drops in his limited opportunities in 2014 than he had all of last season (when he had just one).

I do feel like our receiving corps, while better than any we've had in a long time, just isn't particularly well constructed. Gibson, Hartline, and Landry all seem to fill sort of the same role to me, except Hartline has better chemistry with the QB and Landry can actually catch a contested football and keep his feet. That leaves Gibson sort of lost in the shuffle and he hasn't made the best of his opportunities.

That's the truth.

And people expect too much from Clay and Gibson. Gibson never was a high-level talent at WR. Not overly big and not overly fast -- and add in his injury, and he's less-talented than last year. He was better than Bess, which caused many here to puff him as bad as they did Bess, but he's not a difference maker. He'll move the chains like Bess and catch a few TDs if targeted, but again, like other WRs on this roster, he doesn't threaten Ds. He makes catches that the D dictates and allows.

As w. Clay, people forget that he was only pressed into starting duty b.c of injury. He didn't earn the job outright for a reason. He's a serviceable TE w. ability to line up in spots, but he's not a great talent. The fact that he is starting as the number one TE should tell people all they need to know about the state of TE talent on the Phins. And how many draft picks burned here? smh

Yeah I dunno where Gibson's at. I think I've seen him on 2-3 catches at most this year. Landry is definitely getting more looks, and he makes the plays, so, no issue there from where I sit.

Agreed that those 3 WR's are all cut from the same cloth with slight differences. We need to pick up some different capabilities next offseason. Too much similarity aside from Wallace.

If you look at Lazor's offense going back to Philly and even his Virginia days, the TE was rarely targeted. His offense has always heavily featured the RB position. I'm not very surprised Clay has had a slow start, I didn't have high expectations for his statistics this year.

you sure about that...cause i seem to recall his tight end jake mcgee at uva having a banner year under lazor

We've been using Sims a bit more as a receiver even if he doesn't have the catches. But again, Clay suffered a knee injury in preseason which isn't something to scoff at.

Clay isn't healthy and is being schemed for, once he gets healthy, hopefully after the bye then he will be moving better. \

Gibson I think is cut in the offseason as Landry has taken his place. Big money for a role a rookie is doing great at.

Wake has been getting pressure as had Vernon but I honestly think the lack of sacks should be blamed on our defensive scheme. This off man at 8-10 yards is crap. We need to play 3 yard off or on ball outside coverage. Make guys like Manuel hesitate for an extra half second and we'd have more sacks. Also not let easy crossing patterns with no picks set to be completed. Its what we did in the second half of the Pats game and it worked great.

I think Delmas is doing exactly what he needs to and I think adding Jones back in the fold will make him even better. I also think Wilson going back to nickel will help the defense. We haven't had that third safety that we truly trust so we can play the big safety at LB in nickel players. Thomas and Aikens are young but inexperienced.

After this bye, I expect some good things to happen. We have been missing some key contributors to our team who all will return. Down the middle f your defense which is so important has been missing Misi and Jones all year, adding both back will be huge. Hopefully Starks will be back as well. Getting Wilson moved back to nickel I think will help as well taking Davis off the field. On Offense getting back Pouncey will help both guards in pass and run blocking. That will be big even if we have been doing quite well. If Clay's knee gets even a little better he becomes a bigger weapon in this offense. I like were we are heading.

He had 28 receptions, 5th on the team. Given that was the best statistical season in Lazor's tenure, but in the other 2 years the leading TE had 11 and 18 receptions.

So far this year, Cam Wake has 2 sacks, 5 hits, and 11 hurries in spite of being targeted with double and triple teams. He is the #1 ranked 4-3 DE, and ranked higher than anyone not named Watts overall. He has been great, and in no way should be included here. JMO

Wake doesn't show up on stat sheets, but he's disruptive as hell.
