With the signing of Teyo Johnson, that makes the TE total for us 4. Randy McMichael, Lorenzo Diamond, and Alex Holmes. Any ideas on what Saban is trying to do?? Who's gonna go , whos gonna stay?

If i had to choose from those four after the preseason ended i would keep Mcmichael, Diamond & Johnson
cause Holmes IMO played bad this year including the preseason.

Keep in mind that we'll open training camp with about 80 players, and have to cut 27 of them. There will be extra guys at every position.

We Run 4 Te Set

We Lobbed It Up In One Spot Som1 Has To Catch It

I think Holmes will be switched to H-Back instead of TE and he may take the roster spot of what would normally be a FB.

Well, it's the offseason. The roster is much bigger then it was then preseason. Saban and Co. are coming over players on the market right now. It's not unreasonable for them to have that many Tight Ends.

Teyo Johnson is probabaly just fodder. They didnt like him enough to sign him after he was first worked out in early December.

Remember, in addition to McMichael, the team is probabaly going to want an H-Back. Lorenzo Diamond failed lead blocking, and Alex Holmes hasnt been great and made no contribution whatsoever to the passing game.

I think the Dolphins will potentially look for another H-Back type player. Someone like Matt Bernstein or Brandon Manumaluena.

Alex Holmes is already an H-Back. Virtually all of the time he is on the field he is lined up in the backfield and lead blocking.

I can't see Holmes with us next year as a tight end.

Holmes was injured in the preseason and played only one game -- with 5 receptions for 56 yards. What you smokin' boy?

But he had several drops/fumbles in that game. It was unbelievable.

First of all which TEs we keep depend heavily upon our O-Coordinator before anything else.

For the last couple years I wanted to trade Randy McMichael... his trade value was higher than his actual value, I felt.

I wonder if Saban is thinking that at all. It would be a little strange, because I don't think he is overvalued anymore and I don't think we could get what we once could have for him.

Why can't people understand that the roster is huge in the off-season and that these moves don't even affect the cap?

Besides with Childress in Minny I hope Kleinsasser is let go of and we snatch him up to play his key role in Minnesota of FB/TE/H-Back.
